I am a grandmother raising my grandson [he is 8] and would enjoy talking to a dad or grandfather raising their child or grandchild alone too. I'm not looking for anything or anyone [in other words I'm not needy] Would just like to talk to someone that may be experiencing the same ups and downs that I am and understands what its like to have to be a parent again without excuses.
I am an optimist, secure in who I am, independent, understanding, self sufficient and easy to get along with... so my friends tell me. However, I also have a vulnerable and nurturing side and prefer quiet times over raucous and don't like to deal with combative or confrontational people. I'm not looking for a replacement just conversation and camaraderie.
I'm an active lady who isn't into crass or crude but isn't a prude either. I love to hike the surrounding desert areas of Death Valley or just bbq in my own backyard. I love to cook, garden, play backgammon, go to the theater or shows in Las Vegas, play at the beach, plan on playing golf again, and take my grandson to see more of the world than his own backyard.
I own my own business which keeps me very active with community and civic events. I enjoy intelligent conversations mixed with a sense of humor and people who are equally at ease with children, family and the chaos and joy that this can bring. I am eclectic in my interests and am just as comfortable in jeans and boots as I am dressed up for a night on the town. I grew up in Santa Barbara California on a cliff overlooking the ocean and moved to the desert area 7 years ago. I have a deep love of the outdoors whether its the desert or the sea. Both environments spark my adventureous side: The love of what a city can offer excites me but the lure of the peaceful side of the desert enchants me.
