What makes me.... me? I am a divorced father of 2 handsome sons. I am a corrections officer. I truly believe that one's life experiences make them who they are. I was married only once but I did learn a great deal from it. It taught me that there is much involved in making a relationship work. Some of the key factors, some of which I possessed prior and some I learned after, are patience, understanding, acceptance, communication, trust, responsiveness, loyalty, participation, and compassion are just some. It has taught me to know what I am looking for. I am looking for someone who knows and accepts these traits. A person who understands that even the best relationships go through hard times. Yet they know and understand that the only way to get a relationship to work and last is to work through those hard times. Surpass those obstacles and always remember why it is you got together in the first place. Always remember the way you felt when you laid eyes on the very special person. Feel the emotions that stirred in you just before you spoke to one another for the first time. Remember those little things that you first did as well as the accomplishments that you have made. Remember what you felt in your heart when you saw this person. Realize that this is the person you want to be with and express it to them. We all need to hear that we are loved. We all need to be needed. If you do not take the time to work out the little things the big ones are sure to cause worse troubles. Remember that through it all what you have with the person by your side is yours and theirs to cherish and keep for an eternity. This not only applies to your partners and/or lovers, it also applies to your children and family. Family is a very important part of a persons life and through all that occurs, family will always love you unconditionally.
