I am a fun-loving guy with a zest for life!
That may sound cliche or shallow, but it captures what I am about. I like to surround myself with positive, happy friends who enjoy letting their hair down after a long week at work. A perfect weekend would be a dinner party at my house on Friday with several couples and great wine, followed by a romantic dinner with that special someone on Saturday (I am an OK cook, but prefer that we cook something special together.) After dinner, we dance, talk, or just sit out on the deck and enjoy the evening together.
I am a hopeless romantic who is extremely passionate, and am looking for the same. Do you want to know something very personal about me? (I can't believe I am telling you this, I hardly know you.) You know when we watch a sad movie, a "chick flick", and suddenly I start coughing or fidgeting and avoid your gaze? You take my hand and look into my tear-filled eyes. Yes, I feel things very intensely. And though it embarrasses me, I get "touched" very easily. This is coming from a former Captain in the US Army -- hell, I led troops in wartime. Please, let's keep this between us, I don't want my buddies hearing about this!
Ok, so I shared a few things about me. Now, what is it that I am looking for? First and foremost, I am looking for a classy woman. Who is a lot of fun. And passionate. The kind of woman who walks into a room and immediately all heads turn. Sure, she is beautiful, but more importantly, she exudes class. I'm not talking about money. Remember the old black and white movies? Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca? Bette Davis in Dark Victory? You get the picture?
I have always found myself drawn to older women. Now that I am in my mid-forties, age isn't so much of an issue. But most of the time, the woman that grabs my attention is older than I. It really isn't about age, it is about maturity. And class. And passion. And, well you get the picture.
Ok, so there are a few things that I am not looking for:
If you want to get married tomorrow, I am not ready for that. I fully expect to marry again, but I do not ever want to go through a divorce again. I want to find the woman who will be there for the rest of my life.
If you do not enjoy wine, or do not drink ever, we are not a match. Conversely, if you are a total lush who embarrasses everyone after a couple of drinks, you need help, not me.
If you look at everything with a "half-empty" mentality, we are not a match. I strive to maintain a positive mental attitude and negative people suck.
While I am not a health nut and really do not have the best dietary habits, I somehow have been able to keep myself in decent shape. Not great, just decent. I expect the same.
Oh yeah, if you believe that being intimate is a "duty" to be performed on a schedule, we really are not a match. Of course, that is not you -- just covering my bases.
