Our first date together...
There is a little place I know...where we would sit together at a small intimate table for two. I would order us a bottle of Merlot in easy glow of candle light. Soft, sensual music is playing in the background. Throughout the evening we talk, laugh and smile as we get to know each other.
At some point in the evening...our hands join for the first time...and you have this sensation...a feeling of exhilaration that lingers long after we touch.
After the last of the wine has been drank, I reach behind you to help you with your coat, and you get the faint scent of cologne, imperceivable from across the table. You feel excited, nervous and now disappointed because our date is coming to an end.
As we head outside into the brisk October air, I hold the door for you, and whisper into you ear as you brush up close against me, "do you think you have time for short ride?"
The question, though inviting, confuses you somewhat...but your attention is immediately drawn to an the odd sounds behind you. As you turn to look, a horse & carriage slowly makes its way up the street. For a moment you forget to breath...wide eyed and amazed at what you have stumbled upon, a smile from deep inside you begins to makes its way to the surface.
As you are taking it in, you feel my strong hands on your shoulders, as I whisper again...
"is that a yes?"
