I grew up in a small town with midwestern values. But it was athletics that taught to be a competitor. Although I wasn't as big in size as a lot of my rivals, I didn't let it intimidate me and became more determined to excel. After a highly successful prep experience I entered college in hopes of playing football. Although I was described as best football player on the field pound for pound' there just weren't enough pounds. I was then introduced to a new playing field, the stage. I quickly learned to adapt the discipline I had learned as an athlete to the theatre. It gave me a freedom I had never before experienced and the humbling exhilaration of applause was the same on the stage as it had been on the field. It has never changed through all these years, long after my athletic years would have ended. I taught Speech and Threatre as well as coached football and wrestling at the secondary level. I entered the technical field as a mainframe computer programmer/analyst which I plan to retire from soon. Evenings are often dedicated to performing on local theatre stages. The past 14 seasons have been in the Lansing area. I also enjoy fishing, camping, and yard work in the summer months. I live alone, except when the youngest of my 4 sons stays with me.
