My name is Andrea. I've been on about a trillion of these things but this is a new one for me so here goes....
So here's the first thing you need to know about me: I'm a foster parent. What that means is that I have kids. These kids are not the kind of kids I can just drop off at a babysitter because they have special needs. They are with me the majority of the time with very little time off and any time off is planned in advance. My life revolves around these kids and I expect that anyone who wants to get to know me will be able to handle that. That's not to say that we won't ever have time alone. I'll make time where I can. But I'm not the girl who's going to be able to jet off on some vacation or a last minute dinner without a road crew in tow or at the very least, advanced planning. That being said....
I can be kind of shy when you first meet me. But quickly warm up and become more outgoing. The most important thing you need to know about me is that I love my family and friends. They are the most important people in my life- especially my son and my foster kids. I also believe its important to give back to your community. I spend a lot of my free time volunteering in animal welfare ventures (I have several pets of my own) and most of my employment in the last several years has been with non-profits.
Currently I am a stay at home parent doing foster care for troubled kids. I am going to be going back to work part time, likely in the mental health field and have a goal of finishing my psychology degree.
My interests are listed on my profile here. I am pretty easy going and don't have any horrendous requirements. Just that you be able to carry on a conversation and be somewhat easy on the eyes. Oh, and please don't live with your parents, have your main mode of transportation be a bicycle and have an extensive criminal history.... Thanks!
