People tell me that I look young for 40 and I feel young at heart. I have long straight reddish-brown hair which I usually wear down. I can be serious and thoughtful when necessary, but also like to have fun and laugh. I have a good sense of humor and usually find humor in simple everyday things more so than scripted comedy.
I have an almost 10 year old son who lives with me half the time. We live on a lake where there is a lot to do in the summer but not so much in the winter. We still try to have fun though and we play board games and roller skate; I am one of those parents who skates with the kids instead of sitting on the sidelines.
I am recently separated after a very long-term, but stressful, relationship. I work part-time from home, but it can and does extend to full-time work when it gets busy, which is every 2-3 months although my hours are flexible.
I am taking time to de-stress my life and concentrating on weight loss and increasing my fitness level, which is coming along nicely. I still like to dine out and I've been told I'm a good cook.
I am seeking new local friends to talk and pal around with, hoping to someday meet "the one" who will mesh well with me and complement and enhance my life, and me his. I'm in no hurry, but if the right man comes along, I would be interested in a long-term relationship. I value honesty, trust, loyalty, and respect. I believe that committed relationships should be partnerships with joint decisions, open communication, and shared everyday responsibilities. I am basically shy but warm up quickly one-on-one or in small groups.
I enjoy some outdoor activities like riding ATVs, boating, and swimming, and would be open to trying some others. For TV, I like reality shows, crime dramas and documentaries, and a couple soap operas. For music, I listen to 93.3 which plays alternative rock, but also like traditional rock, some pop, and even some easy listening.
