my name is mandy.
i'm in school slooooowly working towards my goal of becoming an RN. i'm the kind of person who will do anything to help a person in need, even if they're a total stranger, so i figure i can't go wrong in nursing.
i'm looking for someone who doesn't play games, who's secure financially, and is friendly, loyal and romantic. looks don't really matter much to me, but i want someone who can make me feel beautiful, despite my flaws. intelligence is important, too. i'm no genius, but i need to be able to carry on a conversation with you. also, please be funny! there is nothing more attractive than someone who can make me laugh.
i'm an avid reader. i mostly read non-fiction, though some of my favorite books have been fictional. 'the bell jar', 'night', 'a heartbreaking work of staggering genius', '1984' 'johnny got his gun' and 'on the road' all make my list of favorites, along with just about anything by david sedaris and kurt vonnegut.
i'm very into music, too. i grew up listening to classic rock and older country (in fact, i was named after the waylon jennings song, 'amanda'). bob dylan is my all-time favorite, with pink floyd coming in a close second.
i also love:
stars- the shape, not celebrities or the bright things in the sky.

i want kids and marriage one day, but am not excited about the thought of dating someone with kids, though i haven't ruled out the possibility. and, please, no creepy guys. i'm a good person with a good heart and good intentions, and i wish the same of you. i will not, under any circumstances, tolerate someone who cheats or is abusive.
also, the important stuff:
1. i am NOT looking for casual sex or cheap thrills. do NOT message me asking if i want to sleep with you- i don't.
2. i am NOT looking to get involved with someone that's a gazillion miles away. while i suppose there's always the possibility i may meet "the one" while he's living across country or several states away, the thought doesn't thrill me and you must be incredibly amazing for me to even consider it! 
3. i want children one day. if you don't, i'm sorry, but that's an absolute deal-breaker. i will not change my mind, just as i'm sure you won't. same thing goes with dogs. i have never not had one, and don't ever intend to ever change that. i adore my dogs- if you don't like that, i'm sorry, but i can't become involved with you.
4. i have a weakness for southern accents and blue eyes. seriously. (okay, so maybe this part isn't necessarily important, but it's a bonus!)
