Fab Valentine's Day Ideas

While many people regard Valentine’s Day as a time of year when the greeting card companies and candy manufacturers can take advantage of the love struck consumer for another day, many people in love regard this day as a special opportunity to go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to showing their significant other just how special they think they are.

The only thing about Valentine’ Day is that some of the same ideas get recycled over and over. It becomes almost cliché, so that the once thoughtful gifts and ideas hold less meaning than they once did. How about going out of your way to think of some special and unique ways to show your loved one how much they mean to you this year?

Volunteer Together

Nothing can make the feeling of love more apparent than doing for others. If you and your honey have a favorite cause, do something together to benefit it. Raise money for your favorite charity or put in some time doing volunteer work on that day. Now that’s different.

Skip the Valentine Stuff

When that day nears, you can find just about anything decorated in red and pink or with hearts and cupids. Sure, that’s cute when you are in high school but as an adult it is just kind of blase. Most people would rather have something from the heart. Make a card, make dinner, do something that you wouldn’t normally do any other day of the year for your special one—like the dishes. For everything sacred in your relationship, please just don't give a heart box of candy.

Decorate the Bedroom

We all know what usually happens in the bedroom on Valentine ’s Day. Make the bedroom reflect the loving that takes place there. Decorate it with balloons, rose petals, confetti, bubbles—whatever you think will reflect the taste of your lover. Be creative.
