If a person takes the time to write an e-mail isin't the polite thing to do to write back, even if its to say thanks but not interested?

If a person takes the time to write then it would be polite to send an answer but...what was the content of the original e-mail? Was is insulting, romantic, rude, suggestive...something the person receiving the mail would take in offense? Did the person know who was sending it? There are a few variables here that could mean a no answer to mail. Most the time it is just that people are too busy to take the time to answer and especially if they are not interested. I know that when I get mail from someone who's name I am not familiar with I usually don't read it and just delete. Could be what happened with you too Daze....take care now....

I take a no-reply as a sign of disinterest. I've had a few people email me days or weeks later, guess they only check every now and then. Who knows, let it go, you tried.

Why don't hiring managers send you a response when they don't pick your application or resume? Because they aren't obligated to, and it would (in their minds) be a waste of time, when silence and inaction communicates the same thing.

I'll send a person a "Sorry, not interested message" out of courtesy. Sometimes I wonder though, if that is more hurtful than no response at all. It's not fun trying to figure out a way to let a person down gently.

I often wonder why some of these women are on here then. I would assume that if a woman is on this site or sites like this one, she is looking to meet some new people for friends or possibly more. I understand attraction has to be there, but a portion of said attraction is related to personality which takes getting to know a person. If you (men and women) really want to find love in their life, you have to take a chance. This is all assuming that the first e-mail was a sincere one, if it's an "hey baby, wanna wrestle" message then by all means delete it and move on to the real men on this site who are looking for something more to enrich their life.
