I've met a couple of women from DH who I went out on dates with and such. Enjoyed both times. However, I'd be interested in dating or looking for someone to do things with and such. I haven't had much success at all of knowing where to look in the greater Chattanooga, TN area to ask for that sort of thing. I have joined a friends group here and met some really nice people.

Just my opinion......I have enjoyed the forums and been entertain, educated on many subjects. They are interesting to say the least. I have also find not many are looking for dates. I think one the main reasons is distance. I'm sure as with myself not one of us has an off shore oil rig and Gas prices are not a issue.
Please don't get me wrong, I have so enjoyed getting to know such sweet and caring people.......Dating site....I have very serious doubts on DH being a dating site per-say.

It is gonna be tough to find dates here. Mostly because they are long distance. Seen some really hotties here, as probably the ladies have too. Long distance relationships are bummers. Be nice to have others at least in the same state.

Honey, I get emails from people every day. (From WI. - out of the U.S.)
I don't consider 200 miles so far. In fact, someone from DH came to dinner a month ago.
He lives in Upper WI. Happened to be in my town, I said sure. It was great.
There's a lot of people willing to meet, no matter how far you are, to see if it may work. If you don't give it a try, you'll never know.
I guess for a relationship, you need to be close. But just a date ? As I have read on the threads before, "if there is a will, there is a way" . . .

I go with the comment... if there is a will... there is a way! That is the way it has always worked!
In my case I prefer to meet at a nearby Cafe or at a bookstore like Barnes and Noble for example. A walk at a nearby park is great on a nice day too.

I like the idea of walking in the park.
In the summer there are so many things to do outside.
Then it doesn't seem so formal.
A nice, relaxing, atmosphere to get things rolling.

I would like to date my problem is three fold 1 I have never been with anyone over 45 my X after 28 years and I dont find older women attractive enough to take a risk on getting hurtn or hurting them 2 My 2 adult sons are already embarressed enough by their moms new lifestyle for me to make it worse They both say do what you want just keep it to yourself. 3 Its been 21 months since she left and about 7 men to the best of my count and I still want her back...She was my wife my best friend and my lover and I miss each of the three differently....Until I meet someone that I find attractive enough to me that I wouldnt run at her beconing call I dont feel comfortable being any more than friends....I havent even accepted a booty call since she left...Believe me I know what it feel like to hurt and I dont want to hurt anyone emotionally ever again

Perhaps you should broaden your interests. Most women like variety. You list only sports and outdoor activity. Do you go to concerts, read, enjoy travel, history? Join a group in your area that goes on trips... there are many options other than online. i haven't found anyone on internet that was in my area -- only one that had similar interests. The forums and groups are interesting.

I'm very surprised how self centered men are on here as the ones I've run across are in left field. I suspect they are involved with someone else even though they send emails out as there profile always suggests a relationship, but all they want to do is do what they want and email you with only a few words. You can't build a relationship from that. I'd say this isn't a good place to meet older men as they have too much baggage on here which may explain alot.
