How about trying a group of friends that will exchange babysitters
for occasional breaks when necessary or special occasions?
Maybe set a couple of days periodiocally for shopping exchanges?
And plan ahead with a schedule of friends.

Dating and kids really don't mix. I have pretty much given up on dating until the children are grown. I know that many others have found a way, and it seems to work well for them.... hasn't been the case for me though.

if u are looking for time to date somone with two kids u can have two choices to take here hire a babysitter for the night of one of ur days off. or include the kids into ur date with the guy. the depending on how old they are u can bring them to a park let them go play opn the playground watch them and just talk and get to know ur date. to be honest if a guy wants to be with u he first has to accept ur kids, number two he has to be comfortable with who u really are u don't want to falsely lead him into somthing he think is somthing and it not. that my tought

I would like to know too. Granted I have an 8yr old and since this divorce process she has been very clingy. She seems to dispise her mother and hate her mom's bf. I sometimes feel Im all she's got and yet I too need that emtional support from a women. Then the days I don't have her I have my other 2 kids which need my attention too. So it seems like online and 1hr lunch breaks are my avaliable times.

divorce can sometimes make a child feel that way and thier is no simple way to understand what is going through a childs mind.....just take it slow and things will work out......I have 2 kids of my own and went through a divorce so i kinda know where you are coming from......free time is few and far between but i have managed to get use to it........

Dating is one of those things that is "supposed" to be done BEFORE our children arrive into this world. So, when dating happens right in front of them, it is natural for our children to have feelings of hate towards the parent doing the dating and towards the new boyfriend or girlfriend and to become clingy to the parent who is not so obviously dating right in front of their eyes.
I'm not telling anyone not to date. We are all adults and have emotional and physical needs that only an adult member of the opposite sex can meet. I'm just saying that as parents, we need to remember that our children must come firt in ever decision we make.
Personally, I doubt that I will re-marry until my children are grown. Sometimes that thought really gets me down because I am lonley and miss male companionship. BUT... my children didn't ask to be brought into this world.... and when I've dated in the past, it was just too hard on my children.
I keep men at bay for my children's sake. For me and my children, it's the right thing. Others seem to figure out a way to make dating and parenting work together... I haven't been able to figure out how they do it though.

hi. i am a single mum with a 6yr old and three year old. they have fortnightly visits with there father and thats when i plan what i will do for the weekend. so i have time to date every fortnight. in australia we also have in home day care who will have children over night for mothers to have personal time. i hope you find away to date

Fortnight - fourteen nights - 2 weeks.
Switching off with another single parent is great to let each of you have some child-free time, either for dating or a little solitude. Also, the kids play together, so it's enjoyable for all.
