99% of all life that ever lived is dead, I wouldn't be surprised if 'Love' were found to be extinct.

Romance has just become more commercialized...as has so many other things...when is the last time you sat down and made a card for someone instead of running to the store to find one? How about making a meal for someone instead of going out...put some effort in the romance...we are just too a busy society to have the old fashioned romance....

i'd rather make a dinner and card than go out an spend money on a card or spend money on a dinner in a public place.

I agree that the old fashioned romance is very close to becoming a item of the past except for the exceptional few gentlemen who really know the way to a womans heart. BRAVO to all of these wonderful men!!!! My boyfriend thank goodness has been right there from the beginning of our relationship. Fresh picked wildflowers for a crystal vase, a hand on the small of my back while walking through a crowd of people, opening any door that I walk through, planning a night out---down to the last detail.....bringing fold up chairs, drinks etc. to watch the fireworks on the 4th, cooking a awesome dinner for the both of us when I get home from work at 12:30am (at least once a week), a true cowboy at heart and is not afraid to show his love for me whether in private or in public (but he is shy about the public part),but loves to hold my hand even in public after being together for the past 1 1/2 years, is willing to discuss all aspects of our relationship to make sure all is well. The surprise of a nice card---why? just cus!! Going for a romantic walk when he know's the moon will be at its fullest....to return to a candle light dinner that he has prepared earlier.....so nice...
Yes, those gentlemen are alive and well, even today......young fellers...learn from the older guys and just find a modern day way of being romantic....find out what your lady love is into (besides shopping etc...) but you never know....you may want to take her out to her favorite mall that is 50 miles away just for a wonderful day out for the both of you.....especially if there is something on your list your looking to buy at the same time.
I would say that the very top of the list of likes from any lady out there is to show her the respect that she deserves and if she shows disrespect for you then get out of the relationship ASAP. There is just so much disgusting swearing and gestures out there today.....stay away from it....your only disrespecting yourself and those around you.....when you are older and have to make a living in the world around you....you don't want to look back on any situations that put you into the black light of your past. To have a wonderful life and/or relationship you need to live well.......but with a smile not only on the outside but inside as well....and it will always show. Girls and guys....happy meeting for the first time and maybe for many more times.

Aside from possible economic benefits I really don't see the point in the romantic nostalgia of the so called "Old Fashion Romance". People seem to be hysterical over the insidious ways technology has invaded our society from our commerce to our romance people are up in arms over something they ironically embrace.
Romance is not rooted in the material but in the ethereal. People rage like anarchoprimitivists that we need to go back to the "Good Old Days" that life has "become too complicated" yet it will not happen, this is a natural progression. Technology is the extension of man's intellect, the physical manifestation of our wills.
