 First,let me say that I am appalled at some of the things I read here.I am a 55 year old white male.I am looking for what everyone here says they are looking for.Friends,lovers,someone to go to dinner with and do things together.  :Idontknow::Maybe I am crazy for putting myself out there in this topsy turvy world.But where would we be without friends.Maybe it is because I am too open and honest.I have been alone for two years no because my ex decided she liked my older brother more than she did me.Sorry about his luck.I guess they deserve one another.So I find myself alone.Me who has so much to share with the right lady.Someone I can spoil and show she is the only one for me.So why do I e-mail so many and get no response.Is there no lady out there who wants to be swooned the old fashioned way.To be shown love and to be loved.Or do I presume,you notice I didnt say assume that the majority of ladies here are not as open and honest as they say.Come on now,time to fess up.Tell me what you are really looking for.Dont say you like dinners by candlelight and turn down my invitation to dinner.Dont say you like walks on the beach and turn down my invitation to the beach for a walk.Dont read my e-mails and not answer back by saying hi,but no thanks.Makes me wonder if you are for real.If you are wondering if my invitations are for real.Take me up on one of my invitations and see for yourself.But whatever you do.Dont just abandon me without so sort of response.You will find me open,honest,a gentleman through and through.Try it,you might like it.Who knows.Arent I and every person here worth at least a kind word?Maybe you havent found your night in shining armor because you havent tried yet.Take a chance.You never know what the outcome might be. Chow for now!!

I think it is human nature for everyone to walk thru life, and certainly this site, with a mental picture or list (I, personally, have a written list) of what they want in a mate. It's hard not to be superficial when all you have to go on is a picture (and a lot of times, no picture) and a profile.
And I think we've all been guilty, at one time or another, of looking past the person in front of us for someone taller, thinner, younger, cuter, smarter, or for that image of what we "think" we want.
And what happens when you find someone that matches all the criteria on your "list" and they don't move you? Suddenly, what you thought you wanted is not actually what you need at all.
I happen to know you are a very special man, exactly as advertised, and the ladies who are giving you the brush are missing out big time. Their loss. I hope you find that "right person" you think you want, or better yet, one that makes your heart sing.

jerry i understand where you are comong from . i have the same problem . i send e-mails and no answer i have been here for a few months maybe 4 or 5 have answered out of about 50 or so e-mails . i changed my profile i said that the men must have gone scuba diving and not come back  maybe most people on here are not really looking for someone .

And maybe they are desperately looking for someone, but in their hearts don't believe they deserve happiness or are worthy of anyone's love.

There are a lot of players on here, just like in real life. My only advice would be to be patient and keep trying. When it's meant to be, the right person will come along. Here's to wishing you success in your search.

One day I was introduced to a man that I almost dismissed because he clearly wasn't my type. He was a few pounds overweight, he had a hairy back and he was going bald. He asked me out and for some reason I said yes. I knew, before the night was over that he was a keeper. My husband and I were together for 17 years before he passed away.
