The percent of marriages that will end in divorce is now 60%. That is 6 out of ten or even scarier, 3 out of 5! Why don't people live up to their vows? The grass is not very often greener on the other side.

I think for some people it's easier to just give up and get out of the situation if it's not suitable to one or the other, or both in some circumstances. Personally I have seen some couples that got divorced because neither of them were willing to work at what the real issues were. I guess they deemed it was just too much trouble. I totally agree with divorce though if there is an abusive situation. Nobody should live that kind of life.

Most think the grass is greener on the outside UNTIL they get over there and see you have to do the same thing to cut it over there. Where in VA is Deltaville?

i hope not. im 39 and never been married and no kids. when (if) i do get married i will do all i can to make it forever. my parents are in thier late 60's and have been together since 6th and 7th grade.

Most individuals is of the opinion that marriage,is "An idealic day,on a caribbean
island" when they realized that marriage is work,instead of dealiny with the issues head-
on they chose to leave.
A woman or man who grew up with both parents in the home,have a tendency to work on
their marriage.
My parents have been married for the past 45 years,and is still going strong together.

It does seem that way, doesn't it?
I sure hope not. Marriage is a wonderful way to enjoy life. It takes work, sure but if two people work together, are honest and communicate..oh what fun!!!

From what I've seen, most of the marriages are one sided now. The one that was really in love didn't have a clue that the other one didn't really love them. Need to be more careful and take longer dating before marriage. That's just my opinion. Not enought are taking their time getting to know one another before jumping into marriage. I may be old but it would still take me about two to three years before I would say, "I do"

Society is in such a state of transition on so many levels. This is just one. Hi, I'd like to introduce myself, I'm Cinderella and I'm lost!! Don't laugh!! I say that in all seriousness!! I never had what was supposed to be that happily ever after and I want it! I NEED to believe in it! Life should be a musical! However, things are different than 50-100 years ago (if it was ever wonderful) & I think it may be up to all of us to reinvent society & even the structure of marriage!

Dating for a long period of time would be great but..... I dated my wife for three years before we married. It didin't really matter because is end in the big "D".
After all that I have been though.... dating sounds great.
