Would you be more likely to go out and meet people if there was an evening child care facility in your area? How much would you be willing to pay to have someone watch your child for a few hours of much-needed free time?
I'd like to see someone provide such a service, and staff it with fun, enthusiastic folks who will make several activities available for the children. Heck, they could even serve dinner and help with homework!

would be nice as long as people dont turn the daycare workers into "parents". we actually have a 24/7 in home one out here. never checked out hte proces though. aint figured out why not either.

Another good idea is finding a friend that has kids and is single to swap babysitting with so you can each get out.

There was a place here in town called Discovery Zone a few years back. It was kinda like an indoor playground with a snack bar and a party room for birthdays. Parents were welcome to stay and play with the kids, or you could pay the staff to watch your children. That's the closest we've had to evening child care around here.
Of course, some parents would abuse the privilege, and their kids would spend every waking moment in child care. (sigh)

Personally, I think most evening is a good time to be with the kids. Best would be friends or family that would do a sleep over instead of a evening child care place.
