What we need to know about loving is no great mystery. We all know what constitutes loving behavior; we need but act upon it, not continually question it. Over-analysis often confuses the issue and in the end brings us no closer to insight. We sometimes become too busy classifying, separating, and examining, to remember that love is easy. It's we who make it complicated.

Took my date to a really expensive dinner.... (Gave me high blood pressure in the wrong head)

the I took her to the Queen Elizabeth theatre to watch the original Phantom of the Opera

Oh boy that evening I got me some and then some more and then.... swept me off my feet I tell ya

Phantom of the Opera..that is my all time favorite..Ive seen it 5 times so far.

Most romantic date..

My 2nd ex (yes there has only been 2 LOL) took me to dinner at my favorite restaurant (Mongolian) the atmosphere is very different to say the least. After dinner he asked me if I wanted to see a magic trick. He held his hand up in the air, it was empty. He closed his hand and blew smoke in it, opened his hand up and there was a beautiful 2 ct diamond engagement ring. He got on a knee and I was crying when he asked if I would marry him. Everyone started clapping and the restaurant brought us over a bottle of their finest wine. I will never forget that evening, he was one special man and my best friend.

Mine was not the most romantic but one of the coolest.

One of my former BFs knew that I loved walking the local beach almost daily around late afternoon. He said he would like to meet me there to walk with me and I said ok. (Usually I go with my son and my dog but my son was out of town at his dad's house with our doggy.) I was just at the top of the tall sand dune when I saw him on the beach.....he had plastic table and chairs, candles, beverages, a small bonfire and was standing like a waiter at a fine dining establishment, complete with the little towel draped over his arm while pulling the chair out for me to be seated. He really made me laugh and we watched the sun set then froze our hiney's off mackin' on da beach for exercise instead of walking. It's funny that this thread was on here because this former BF called to reminisce about that date and other old times fairly recently.....he was feeling nostalgic I guess. LOL

I came home to find a huge bouquet of flowers on my counter. A basket filled with pampering items from Bath and Beyond. Seven cards, one to be open everyday throughout the week. A bubble-bath drawn for me, just before I got home. He must have left as I was just getting home. Then a note in the bathroom saying, to take time pampering myself and then to prepare for a night on the town. Which proved to be a great time. His loving gestures and thoughtfulness still make me smile, when I think of them.

in september, i went to canada to meet someone...

the first night, we went to toronto, drove around with the windows down...then parked the car. we walked around, allowing me to absorb the sights and sounds...had a veggie hot dog from a vendor...cruised through a huge mall, annoyed the scientologists, had sushi, listened to a street band...

the second night, we went to niagara falls, stopped for a wine-tasting, walked through the casinos, went and watched the fireworks over take-out at the falls...checked out the wax museum...

the third night, we walked through mississauga, taking the little trails that went through the city.

Your smile has warmed me and your eyes draw me to linger in their depths. I do not know you and so it was surprising to find you walking in my dream yet it was so real that I had to write it down. Close your eyes, take my hand and walk with me in my dream.
I found myself sittting on a log listening to the quiet and the crackle of the small fire beginning to burn under the coffee pot. The first glimmer of dawn glows through the trees in the east. I hear the tiny creatures beginning to stir and the chirping of a nearby finch. The world awakens slowly here in the mountains, like the blossoming of a flower, purposeful but without haste. I hear a splash in the lake behind me as a trout jumps at a mayfly. I have a small hand tied white fly that they might like today. I think I will try it out later over by that big rock. My eyes wander through the door of my tee pee and linger on the form that lies sleeping within. A warm glow rises within me and a smile stretches across my face. How is it that my life could be so blessed as to share this time with someone so wonderful? The perking of fresh coffee brought me to the present and inside the tee pee I hear a rustling of blankets, as I am sure the aroma of the coffee has reached you. I wonder what you are thinking as you awaken to this new day.
I poured us each a cup of coffee and took them into the tee pee. As I sat down beside you there was a twinkle in your eye. I handed the cup to you as I whispered “Good Morning”. A smile crossed your face as you sipped at the cup, returned my greeting and thanked me for the coffee. Our attention was distracted as a blue bird landed on the teepee poles and was pecking at them. He was a beautiful, soft, blue gray with darker wings. It felt like a welcoming from nature as if we fit into the wheel of life here. I told you the sunrise is beautiful this morning because there were some wispy clouds on the horizon. You said, “let’s watch it together” and began to get up from your sleeping place. I moved and stood up to leave and give you a moment to dress but before I could step away you rose, cup in hand and stood before me with a warm smile. You noticed my eyes as they captured your beauty. With a glint in your eyes, you stood on your tiptoes and gave me a little kiss. I knelt in front of you and picked up a blanket placing it over your shoulders, I knew it was a little chilly in the mountain mornings. We went out to the log by the fire and I sat straddling the log and you nestled into my arms as you sat in front of me to face the rising sun. As the sun continued to inch it’s way into the gold and pink sky we sat in awe of the display of brilliant colors. Even the birds were silent in that moment and it was as though the world around us held it’s breath as this spectacle was created before our eyes. Those first warm rays began to touch our faces and as if orchestrated the world began to come alive around us. The songs of several birds serenaded us and you giggled as two chipmunks played at the base of the tree. You leaned back onto my chest and as I tightened my arms around you I wanted to slip a hand beneath the blanket feel the softness of your skin. Could you feel my heart begin to beat faster? Did you sense the rising of my pulse? How do we begin? Where do we go from here? Does this freedom that you feel with your body tell me you are simply an uninhibited person? Do I take this to mean your freedom may extend to making love in the sunshine? Or as a nice way to start the morning?
There is too much to be said in just this one post so I will continue in the next

I feel the air and smell the aroma of pine mingled with the scent of you. Will we take the time to learn about one another or just have a great little vacation from reality full of wild joy and endless pleasure? I get up to start breakfast while you sit with both hands wrapped around the coffee cup. This silence does not seem uncomfortable. As you watch me tend the fire and unpack the pans, plates and food I feel you drawing in my every move. Kind of like your hands that circle the cup and keep moving over its surface to know it. To absorb it’s warmth shape and texture. After a moment you asked, “What are you grinning about?” I said “I hope you know that I only do this on the first date”. You laughed as you rose and moved toward the teepee, entered and begins to dress. I look up from the eggs I am beating and find my gaze resting on the contours of your body as you dropped your blanket and begin to dress.
The ease of your movements seemed to give you an aura of self-assuredness that was refreshing to be near. Your movements seemed as natural as the creatures we shared this quiet place with. I had breakfast ready when you came out of the teepee and we talked of the beauty around us and the ways we might explore it as we ate. We had decided to walk around the lake first to survey our options and get an idea of paths we might use in the coming days. We cleaned up the camp and rolled our beds up so we would not have any furry friends surprising us when we went to bed tonight. I packed us a lunch and water as I figured the excursion around the lake would take most of the day.
We stayed near the shore for most of the trip. We had found many interesting things along the way; driftwood, rocks, feathers and plants kept our interest peaked. By mid day we were about half way around the lake and stopped for lunch in a meadow of cow lilies. I enjoyed the morning and time had passed so quickly. We ate and talked about crawdads we found under some rocks and how they waved their claws like the sand crabs at the ocean.

As we finished eating and began to clean up I decided not to continue around the lake. There is a special place I had intended to end our trip at but I think it would be better to wait until tomorrow so I suggested we go back on the same side of the lake but deeper into the forest to get a different view of the land. Along the way I pointed out the path to the crystal peak. There we could find clear and amber crystals as big as your thumb. You wanted to go there now but I suggested that it was too late today to get there and back before dark and we could make it a day trip later. We came to the cliffs and walked out to the edge and looked down over the valley below. In the distant was a small ranch house and barn that had not been lived in for many years. We saw a small herd of whitetail does with several fawns among them. You asked if there were any wolves or bears in these mountains. There were no wolves but maybe a fox or two though I had not seen one in many years. The same with the bears, there were some in this range but I had not seen one or any tracks. The only predator you needed to worry about in this place was me. Beneath the gentle and thoughtful man that I was reveling to you was a constant desire to take you in my arms and feel the warmth of your flesh against mine. To press my lips to yours and loose myself in the passions of a kiss.

I picked up our things and continued our discovery of this side of the lake. We arrived back at camp about an hour before sundown and although we had an exciting day we were both beginning to move a little slower. I quickly built a fire and put a homemade stew on to simmer while we gathered our towels and went to the lake to clean up before dinner. You followed me to the edge of the water and began to wash your hands and face. A few feet away I left my cloths folded on a rock and walked into the water until I was chest deep. I slipped under the water and remained in the embrace of mother earth’s waters for as long as I could. The water invigorated my skin and I enjoyed the weightlessness. When I came up out of the water I looked toward the shore and there I saw you knee deep in the lake and wading towards me. I took my bar of soap and lathered my hands up and began to lather your arms and moved around to wash your back and ran my hands the length of your back, over the roundness of your hips and down the back of your legs. You turned towards me and I continued to lather your legs, then lathered up your stomach, ribs underarms, shoulders and your breast. You slipped the soap from my hands then began soaping up and washing me. I found your touch loving and from behind me you reached to wash the back of my neck letting your nipples slip across my back and my insides danced. Then you scooped up water in your hands and began rinsing both of us off. I finished washing and took your hand as we waded out of the lake. I picked up my towel and enjoyed drying every inch of your with out exception. You reciprocated by beginning to dry my chest but I had spent so much time carefully drying your off that I had drip-dried and just took a towel and dried my hair. There was a distinct force in the air around us that was drawing us together and I found myself resisting it. I was puzzled by my actions, as I am sure you were too. I desired to kiss you endlessly and hold you near but I did not want to rush the moment. I wanted each moment to evolve within each of us not as two people clinging to one another hoping for a connection through sex. I also enjoy the heightened state of awareness that comes with arousal of this sexual desire. I feel no need to quench it but to sustain it for as long as possible. I could smell the stew and was getting hungry so we dressed quickly. The stew was delicious and we set by the fire sharing the stories of our past and of our families. The moon was still low in the sky and only a few stars were out when we agreed to get some rest. I took just moments for us to be out of our clothes and zipping up our sleeping bags. I had purposely arranged them were the zippers opened towards each other so our hands could reach for each other. We lay on our backs side by side each in our own sleeping bag, holding hands and watching the stars come out through the large opening in the teepee peak. We shared a lingering goodnight kiss, watched the sky, listened to the night, talked about being children, Kissed long and often and somewhere in the night we fell asleep.
In glow of the dawn I found myself between sleep and wakefulness. I lingered in a place in my mind between the dream and reality. I lay still for several moments taking in the sounds with the quiet. It was as though by opening my mind to this world around me I could draw in its peace. I realized that our culture seems bent on keeping nature out of our lives. Perhaps that is why I feel the desire to draw it all in.
As the world out side began to stir I leaned up on an elbow to look at the face of this loving creature that was sleeping beside me. I wondered at the smile on your lips, you must be dreaming of something pleasant. As I lay watching you sleep I thought of the life you might have lead. The adventures you have had, the hurts that once weighed heavy on your heart, and the people whose lives you have touched. What are the memories that make you laugh or cry? Your breathing began to change and your eyes began to open. I bent to place a soft kiss upon your lips to say good morning. To my surprise and pleasure I found your lips responsive and eager to share a lingering kiss. The stirrings within me that this kiss had created were a clear sign that we should not lay here too long so I got up, dressed and went to put the coffee on. As the coffee perked I sat on the log as I did yesterday. You had slipped on a tee shirt and came to watch the sunrise in my arms. In the freshness of this day I caressed your arms and shoulders, partly to spread the warmth and in my touch was the message of my desire to know all of you. My face was flush and warm and I don’t think the heat was from the rays of the sun. I nuzzled you, kissed you softly on the back of the neck then as you began to turn for a kiss I bit you gently on the neck and held your breast tightly in my hands.

The coffee boiled over and brought us back from the place our minds were going. We busied ourselves with a morning routine and were ready to travel while the sun still hung low in the sky. I appreciate that you are an early riser and that you are ready to participate in the day without a great ceremony of putting yourself together. The air of confidence surrounds you and you do not seem to need to get your value from me yet I feel that you are thoughtful of me at all times. Today we will walk in the opposite direction around the lake or at least that is the plan I have discussed. There is a special place for us to spend most of this day and it is not far away. I will have to make this walk an adventure of seeing the little things. Hand in hand we begin our travels to the south along the shore. As we walk I chuckle to myself because I am sounding like a nature walk guide telling your about the three verity of pine trees around us. We marveled at the aspens and willows, the tiny flowers blossoming among the pine needles. About mid morning we come to a small steam that runs into the lake. Tiny minnows dart up and down as our shadows touch the water. I did not have to lead you upstream because the first thing you asked was “Where does it come from? It seems warmer than the lake water” I just said let’s find out and we began heading up stream hopping from rock to rock. The rocks got bigger and large granite boulders soon surrounded us. We followed the stream between the boulders and felt like we had entered a secret place. It was about a hundred feet around and a swimming hole in the middle was crystal clear with slight wisps of steam rising from its surface. The pool was fed by a hot spring. There was a ten foot tall waterfall on the left was from snow melting high in the mountains above. It traveled down and spilled into this pool over the granite shelf. The hot spring was out of sight but just a few feet away and the two joined here in this pool and became the perfect temperature.
Before we are knee deep, I step in front of your taking both of your hands in mine and as I back further into the water I lead you to me. For me it is as though I am leading you into the sharing of our souls. The warmth of the water envelops us like the closeness of a lover. We are deeper now and your breast rise in the water as if the nipples wanted one last breath of air before they plunge beneath the surface. You are to your neck and I sink deeper to be face to face. My hands now caress your body as I look into your eyes and you begin to run your hands along my arms and then a playful scratching at my chest.
In this moment, alone in the world, we opened ourselves to one another. Each touch, each whisper, each thought seems to somehow be shared as we are lifted together by the water and our senses heightened by the clarity and warmth that surrounds us. Many search for this much of another human being their entire lives. They willfully fling their bodies at the other hoping to achieve a union. The union of sex is but a spark compared to the touching of two souls. Here with a near stranger we have a knowing of one another that is unspoken, a will that the other enter our thoughts and feel what we feel. As we linger and play in the pool I feel that I am. I feel that I am who I am created to be. I play no part for this woman; I need nothing from you but to share this time. I do not need to be anything other than me and find joy in the miracle of being alive. I often cling to the bark of a tree that I believe lives fully accepting all things. I wish I could experience the life of a tree. Nowhere to go or time to be there, only this place to be. I could feel the wind rustle through my branches and the tickle of the squirrels and birds walking on me. I wonder if the desire I have to hold each thing and each moment in my hand, even to raising it to the sun to see the radiance of it is a desire to be part of it. There is so much more to enjoy here at this pool and in the rocks nearby. We have spent our day in the water and soaking up the sun on the sands. As we leave this place I know we will return many times and perhaps discover more of its secrets.
There is more and I would love to share it with you when you have the time.
Love and light

it was a weird one and too much mention of teepee, that was distracting.. but he is a word weaver and it was a different romantical (SL word) read. Though this story was not for me, it reminded me that I NEED to remember to use caution word artists. A word weaver is one who can take what you say and create pictures to speak directly to your heart.

This is not to say that this one is not genuine. Not at all. It is just that word weavers are not a good choice for me.

I used to be a tell me person. I have become a show me person.

I read the absolutely beautiful story that jondalar wrote and unless you are a romantic at heart, you might not be able to relate to such writings. I am a visionary and 'word warrior', so I could place myself in the description of his scenario and words, and I could actually see everything that he was relating in his story.

Of course, being part Cherokee, I enjoyed it even more, because I have been with my people in teepees before and I know exactly what living in that setting is like. My last visit was just last year in Idaho.I was at a Mountain Man Rendezvous for four days and three nights. If you are not a true outdoorsman, there is no way a 'city' girl, or guy could even begin to cope with that lifestyle for more than a day. It poured down and rained on us for three of the four days we were there. Our teepees retained so much moisture that the inside got wet and damp and so did a lot of our supplies. We could not use anything modern outside in public, however, one native brother got caught outside using his cell phone LOL. Everything was cooked over an open fire, using black kettle cookware. There was a mixture of Native people and mountain men there. Lots of pre-1800 native and mountain man games were played, i.e black powder competition, arrow contests, etc., and always something going on day and night.

One night, at one of the campsites you could hear native drums in the distance. I walked over to where they were playing and stood outside their ' open covered tent'. It is customary not to enter a tent, teepee, or campsite unless you are invited in. As I stood there enjoying the several drums being played, one of the women motioned for me to come in and she asked if I wanted to join her playing her drum. I was elated of course. I was in awe of the synchronization of us all playing the drums together. It was as if we were one being. It was absolutely wonderful and unless you can appreciate native music, chanting, drums, flutes, etc., you will not understand the feelings they can instill within your soul.

So, in some instances I did experience what jondalar was describing, as the teepees at the rendezvous were nestled in a setting by a large stream that was fed by a local river, and in some fantacized way I felt transported back and able to experience life in those times while I was there. The evenings were the best, the music in the air, the light from the campfires, the buzzing of people talking, the wildlife night sounds and just the entire atmosphere was exhilarating.

If you are a real outdoorsman and have never experienced a rendezvous; be it a mountain man or native one, you should go. Even powwows are exciting and there are a lot of places that also offer covered wagon trips, dude ranches, etc.

I know this is not about the most romantic date I've ever experienced, but I will just say none of mine could compare to the one jondalar described, and if I had one like that it WOULD have been the most romantic date I've ever had, and I would have been swept off of my feet.

Am glad that another understood what ever it was that I saw there and could say it better than I could.

I know that I build walls quickly with some styles of writing. I need to look at why that is.

Im just waitig to be be swept off my feet, and I have lowered my standards...lol. Actually my ex husband must have swept me off my feet before or we wouldn't have two beautiful children...lol. I'm waiting for the perfect interaction....Things that would excite me now are more simpler than before like; cleaning(clothes optional), take out the trash and the trash can to the curb, shoveling the snow, cooking a romantic dinner, putting the children down while i take a hot bath, a wonderful full body masage, and more ..............can't tell the rest....my secret ;0)

Thank you for reading my words and walking with me in this adventure. Sebzalive,your points on the distraction is noted and thank you for mentioning it. Cheh tahn, Making love in the tee pee is one of the most beautiful experiences of nature. I paint starscapes and when I turn out the lamp the inside of this native shelter lights up with a thousand glowing stars. The passions unleashed upon the bearskin rug are only matched by the two spirits entwined, hearts beating in unison as the stars dance around us. Trauma, this may seem erie for you and I would suggest you not go camping with a quiet stranger.
As each has shared a most romantic date I could see how it is the chemistry that is the magic of those romantic moments. I wish for each of us that special someone that captivates our heart and makes sharing a cup of coffee a romantic moment.

Is the hogwash at the bank parking lot this year, or at the Wally world lot again?

Wonder if I could sneak my car though?...getting kind of dirty...

I shared a vison of my perfect date earlier in this topic. It was a dream I wrote about in 2001. I shared it because it was so real for me. Last night I understood why it was so real and found a letter from 2003. These next words were written by the woman I shared a weekend with. SL may note there is no mention of the tee pee. We had never met except online and this is part of her story.

The Knight

He wore no suit of armor,
No chest plate on his heart.
Clothed only in possibility,
He arrived ready to start.

He stood there in the doorway,
His heart upon his sleeve,
A lifetime trailed behind him,
One that he might choose to leave.

I looked into his shining face,
A face I'd never known,
And left all judgments on the step,
Preconception surely flown.

I opened up my leather coat,
His arms inside he slipped,
Our hearts began to beat as one,
Not a single beat they skipped.

There were no question from that time,
As we began to dance,
We joined the rhythm of the stars,
And gave thanks for this chance.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sometimes choice dissolves,
The heart opens,
Enticed by open heart,
And the joining just occurs.
Spring blossoms,
Reveal redolent,
Gateways to eager bees.
There are no questions.
On a spring morning,
At the feet of a sacred mountain,
I offered my heart to you.
You walked in.
Possibility,In place of protection
No effort.
No hesitation.
No questions.
Quotes
"What is meant by light? To gaze with undimmed eyes on all darkness"
Nikos Kazantzakis
"The heart is the hub of sacred places. Go there and roam in it"
Sri Nityananda
"In relationship lies all the work that needs to be done on the spiritual path: the confrontation with our holding grief, fear, distrust, and judgment. In the deepest spiritual practices, one discovers that pure awareness and pure love are indistinguishable."
Steven Levine
excerpt from
To Love and Be Loved
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I lived the dream that I had written about though in different settings.
What followed on this weekend was the most exquisit releasing of limiting thoughts and unbelievable tantric connection of two physical beings.

What will we risk for love?
What will we risk letting go of?

Dez, While I didn't write that stuff, I used to write things that could fit right in with it all. I have not done so in a very long time. As weird as it is, it is not that weird. I quit writing about 1998-99 when the message board I was on went crazy. At that time, I followed a lot of the thoughts on Jondalar's profile. I was a "tell me what you are" person. I have become a "show me what you are" person.

Jondalar, Who are you?

Perhaps the question to ask is who am I to you. What do you see in these words. Do you hear a loving spirit or a braggart? Do you feel these words are pretentious or do you believe one can open his heart in words? Some will think each word is a line to suck them in like has been shown in the past. Some will see the pasty faced choir boy or the weirdo talking to squirrels in the park. Who I am to the reader is the past they bring with them.
I could write the words that revealed the pain and anguish of my life and It would not be me. I could tell the thousand stories of the lives that touched mine and you could not see me. I have prayed with a child's mother on the dirt floors and grass huts in far off places and I have placed the dollar in a dancers G string with my teeth. Who am I? That depends on the point of view, weather in these words or in my life. My point of view is not understood by all yet and the point of view of each individual is all that matters.
Love and Light,
Jondalar

Hi RN
I think when you write those words you are speeking truer than you know. I have not been here long but I think you will find as I have that you have real friends in this forum that you do not even know yet. There are a couple that you might be wise not to get to know but they still come up with something worth reading if you catch them early.
When the jokes are done this is the kind of thing you really gotta know and it comes from a post here in the forum Thansk again Sky for posting this.

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to someone.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.

10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.

11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

And always remember....when life hands you Lemons, ask for tequila and salt and call me over! Sky
Friends are where you find them

The most romantic date I had was a trip to St. Thomas w/ my ex boyfriend. It was candlelit dinners, walking on the beach in the evening, dancing on the sand,lots of embraces and more. He was the love of my life, but I believe there is more then one love, so I'm expecting to find the last love of my life.

Well here I go again, going to make a fool out of myself.

The most romantic date, this is one of the two that I can say is my most romantic,

Me and him went out to eat, then on the way home we went about 2 miles to the top of a mountain and he spread out a blanket in the back of his pickup and we lay there watching the stars and counting the jets as they passed by and talked about each others lives, our good times and our bad and then as a shooting star pass over us we made love.

Oh That was the good old days. LOL

Enough of that, makes me want to cry.

Oh well maybe I an't to old to count the jets again if that right one ever comes along.

Must be thinking out loud again. LOL

Well I thought it was romantic. hehehe

First, I want to say I haven't enjoyed myself as much in years as I have reading these forums. You people are great I wish I could travel to meet you all in person.
Second, where do you all find these men for these dates and why are you not still with them? I guess I was to easy to get I never had any man do these kind of things for me. Thank God I finally grew up.

Hey Mammy, My place is about 30 miles from the airport right on the arrival route. If you like counting jets, I'll be glad to help you count them. There are so many, you might not even have time for the other. Of course, then there are the millions of stars too in case you get tired of counting jets.

Hey Sky, think we could count that high. Do you think we would want to. LOL
I mean waste time counting the jets. LOL

It does sound like a stupid romantic date, but it was one I will never forget.
I guess it's the little things that I enjoy the most.
And counting the jets, and gazing at the stars are some of the simple things. LOL

well it may sound strange, but honestly the most romantic date i ever had could have easily been seen as one of the worst in history. ill never forget it because nothing went right! we were supposed to spend the day lounging on the beach, enjoying the sun and scene. it started great the first half of the ride was perfect! and then of all things a flat. and it was all downhill from there, we got to the beach to find that i had checked the wrong day on the weather report, and about three miles out it started raining. we finally arrive, only to find that the restaruant I had planned on was being renovated, leaving only a little burger joint. obviously by this point i felt the whole trip was a disaster. we went down on the beach(abandoned because of the rain) and sat under the peir (to eat some very questionable looking burgers)and started talking. just into the conversation, i noticed she was loking at me and before i could say anything, i was met with a kiss! i looked at her stunned and she explained that me trying all day to pull this wreck of a date out of the trenches was the sweetest, most romantic thing she'd ever seen. it changed my whole perspective on a "successful" date lol

I once took a wonderful woman I was seeing to my families old farm. We hiked up onto one of the bluffs and had a sack lunch i had brought in a backpack then watched the sunset and at there until almost three o'clock in the morning just listening to the world around us telling stories of our lives.

I could not pick just one.

A gf was waiting up in a teddy and had wine, glasses and romantic music ready when I got home from a Night job. We toasted and slow danced together in the living room. It was just what I needed to relax that night.

I took a gf to a Fireworks display on the beach. They had only the boardwalk open and the beach closed. After the fireworks was over and most people had left I walked with her on the boardwalk till we could sneak on the beach and sit watching the waves as they cleaned up and closed the boardwalk behind us.

For the life of me I can not remember what this was. I was in my mid twenties. All I remember is I wanted something inexpensive but didnt know which one to buy. She bought it for me and chose a good quality one. What I do remember to this day was how I felt when she gave it to me. No gf had ever taken the time to go out of her way as she had.

The cost of the item doesnt matter it is the sentiment and meaning behind it that matters most for romance.
