All I've heard is rave reviews on Sarah Palin's speech on Wednesday night. Don't people realize one of Bush's speech writers wrote it and she read it off a teleprompter just like news readers do. I didn't see the need for her to bash Obama. John McCain didn't do that during his speech.
One thing I wondered as I watched Palin's speech was how focused she was on her delivery. At one point the camera panned in on her daughter Piper holding the baby. That was a pretty big job for such a little girl. WHAT would have happened - perish the thought - if she happened to let the baby go? As the baby screamed, what would Sarah have done - ignore it? Or would she have gone running out into the audience. I know what I would have done if it were me - mother first, VP second.

If Palin ran into the audience she would have been criticized by somebody. If she stayed on the stage she would have been criticized. You can't please all the people all the time.

r u serious? are you trying to trash her for not runnig to help her own baby in a hypothetical situation that never happened? what kind of question is that?
i think we need to get off this whole mother/politician thing. i don't se anyone complaining about other female senators failing their families by serving. what about every male senator or cognressmen, are they hurting their families by serving?
and yes she reads speeches froma script, as does EVERY politician, no political speech is worthwhile these days, actions and true intentions are, only actual real life voting history and open debates reveal truth, not stump speeches.

There is no telepromper use in a debate now they have cards to glance at.

My family is going to vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin. In fact, my mother and father went to see Sarah Palin in State College last Tuesday. And from what my mother told me today, Sarah Palin will make an excellent vice president.

Palin will go back to Alaska now. She came in and brought some excitement to the ticket. The underlying "beef" against Palin is that Feminists don't want a conservative, and more damning, a pro-life female to get in the white house.
They see her as a gimmick used to get undecided women to turn the tide for McCain. After all the work G. Steinem and those enlightened females in her camp have done for their gender, Palin will waltz in as an attractive window dressing for McCain's ticket. Hillery had to put up with Bill and build a resume in the Senate, just to get bumped by Obama. Steinem opined in the NY Times that being female (gender) is a much bigger disadvantage than race in becoming president.
They paint her as a hick-bimbo living in the sticks, because she has to be ignorant, and religiously stunted to have her beliefs. Ideology trumps gender or race for these women- their anger and attacks are meant to discredit her membership as a female.
