How much of an influence is your dog's opinion about who you date?

If my dog barks at the person ... is not a good sign! My dog has a sixth sense!

Once I had a man come to my house on a first date. My cat (an Ocicat breed) was there, and he mentioned that he
did not like cats. Yasmin, my cat, began to run around the living room by jumping from one piece of furniture to
another. She had NEVER done that before! But she did not stop at one circle, kept doing it! I could see her looking
at me and I started laughing and could not stop. She was telling me plain as day, "We don't need this one!" Needless
to say, he was not invited back!

hey if my dogs do not like a guy then he's not hanging around! I have Rotties and trust me if they do not like someone they most likely will not stick around. Oh and if a guy says he doesn't like cats he is history for that one as well! LOL

It's funny this topic should come up!! Many years ago when I just started dating the man that would become my husband, He came over to my house. Of course I had to introduce him to my Great Dane. That dog bit him, something he had never done!! Guess I should have listened to the dog right then and there!! Would have saved time in divorce court!!

My cat pee-ed in a man's shoe once. The only time that cat ever 'missed' his litter box. And he was right - I didn't like him either!!

My Granny always said, "If your dog doesnt like Him, take the hint, they are the most honest creatures!" I learned the hard way she was right, As usual, she was a goddess.

I wouldn't trust my lab to pick whom to date as she thinks I'm hers but, likes who I decide to spend time with (eventually). I would trust my husky's judgement he doesn't want just anyone hanging around. He seems to sniff out crazy and lets me know.

I just peeked at your profile. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the rotties. I have one myself. She's quite the freek deterent. I love her to pieces.
It takes a helluva person to own a rottie. I had 2 myself. I love one in the custody battle. Man I miss her, but I'm grateful to still have Little Grace

And right you are! Exactly why I just requested you as a friend! If you own a Rottweiler you are A OK with me...most of the time. Because I presently do Rottie rescue I have unfortunately met some pretty crappy people who have not just neglected their Rotts but mistreated them as well! But people like you and myself, who love the breed so much that we can't live without one in our lives are what I consider good people. Always nice to meet another Rottie friend!

That's great you do rescue. I hate to see Rotts abused like that. some people get them thinking they can handle them and find out quickly they aren't able to keep up. Training 2 that were 6 months apart was a nightmare, but I did it. it makes you a lot stronger of a person to get through that kind of boot camp. here's my baby

My service dog (a Staffordshire) loves everyone. If she is uncomfortable around someone, I KNOW something is wrong with them. At home I have an Anatolian shepherd, who was going to be my assistance dog, but didn't work out. He is as happy as a clam with his horse to guard, and a visit inside the house once or twice a day to make sure everything is okay. His room mates are a rottie, who did well with the balance work that I need, but has the attitude that "If you want the phone, go get the phone. I didn't put it there". He's a big puss who loves everyone, but if the Anatolian gets turned on, he's right there to back him up. His "official" job is to pull a wagon load of trash to the road for me and squash me when he decides it's his turn to be my lap dog. The puppy is a rottie/sharpei cross. He's a goofy looking mutt, but you can't help but love him. So far, he seems the most likely prospect for a replacement SD should something happen to Bonnie. He's willing to pick things up and bring them to me, and he's a true "Velcro dog" when I have him outside. All I can say is God help any burglar who is dumb enough to try my house. There wouldn't be enough left for the deputy to scrape up with a spoon.
