Is there anybody out here who is REAL good with computers??? I have a problem . I believe my ex has somehow gotten in my computer stuff and is tracking my travels. Is this possible?

Everytime I begin talking to a man on here... thru e-mails... they end up repeatedly on my Ignore/Block List. I take them off... they end up back on. If they are on My friends list... they dissappear every day!! Then we have to request each other all over again. It makes it very difficult for this girl to form any kind of relationship on here.... and I am getting kinda angry. The reason I suspect my ex.. is because the same thing is happening on my personal e-mail on aol. Whom ever I happen to be talking to on here ... if they are male...and I give them my e-mail address; the first time they write they end up on my Blocked Mail list on my personal e-mail site too! Same deal... every day... I put them back on... and then they are gone again... every time they try to send me anything!!( Both places..here on DH... and my personal mail)

It ends up always the same way... the new guy starts feeling like I am screwing with him... and of course they get discouraged. End of that venture!!I really am a nice person...and would not toy with anyones feelings.. (pout).

I am asking if anybody knows if this is possible and how I can fix it!! I have confronted him with this... but of course he denies it. I caught him doing this on the sly with a best girlfriend he did not like when we were living together and since this smells like the same rat ... I have to wonder if he can still access my computer since I have moved out!!

Any words of wisdom appreciated, please. Of course you will have to post any questions or advice here... because I am sure he will block them too!!

Thanks In Advance,

Debralee

Password protect your windows login. Disable remote desktop and remote assistance and change your passwords on this site and your other sites. Make sure your firewall is enabled and that all exceptions are for programs you are familiar with.

Under System in the Control Panel. Look for the Tab named remote.

He could be running a password sniffer program in the background on your computer. By closing the ports in the firewall reduces some change of him getting in. I also recommend a router for your internet simply for the hardware firewall it provides.

Do you regularly do spyware scans? I would start with that. And then go to your Start Menu. Click on Run. Type msconfig and press enter. This brings up the System Configuration Utility. Click on the Services tab and look at all non-Microsoft services to see if any look suspicious. To disable a service uncheck the box. Then click on the Startup tab and look at all startup programs. Uncheck any suspicious ones. Once finished, click OK. You will be prompted to restart the computer if you made any changes. If you did and after you restart, a message box will appear when your windows desktop loads. Click "Do not show this message again" and click OK.

UPnP is Universal Plug n Play. keep that checked.

edit: go to http://lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php and download the free software. Install and then do an update and then a scan.

It won't hurt. It could even make your computer run faster. You are very welcome.

There are several people on here more knowledgeable than me with computers if you continue to have future problems after trying all this. I design and install home theater systems and home networks so I give lessons daily on the products I install to clients.
