I collect them, have for a while now... I have my favorites and personal stories about why, what I have felt and how this may have differed from the metaphysical properties outlined in many of the books available on the topic...

I have had some great conversations lately on the topic with Nico, and I was thinking that maybe there are others who would like to share in the discussion..

So feel free to share any stories/info/personal experiences you have on the topic

I love using various crystals and stones in spell bags, spell jars, ritual area setup, jewelry and many other uses. The vibrations of the Earth are powerful and of good use.

Namaste,

Daniel

Cool! Do you have any favorites?

The strongest reaction I have ever had was to a chlorite phantom quartz.. not an especially stunning stone, but wow! I almost threw it because it was scarily strong, it also got really hot in my hand. After that I was hooked, lol...

There is a rock and gem shop here that I like to visit, I will wander around and wait for something to resonate.. I choose by "feel" and then read the metaphysical properties of the stone.. I always find it amazing to see how perfect the stone matches my scenario..

I have several crystals that I have picked up in shops and flea markets. One of these days I hope to learn about them.
I do have three Siva Lingam that I really feel a connection too. Well right now I just have two of them because I think my cat took a liking to one and it seems to be missing.

Yeah sass-
I enjoyed the discourse-glad you brought it here.
I really have a connection to Moldavite, it comforts me, and is the only stone I wear daily. I really feel it eases home sickness-
I have some interseting ties to Ocean Jasper, as I feel it led me to an area of spiritual thought and awareness of oneness that has really enriched my life.
I am attracted to Azurite, and Malachite, and one of may very favorite pieces is a combination of the two on a raw stone-
I have pieces that I use for feng shui, although honestly they are probably more just decoration, I place them strategically throughout my house-
I have balck tourmaline next to my computer, as it is suppossed to dispell the negative energies of electronic devices, lol.
I have a large quartz point a the entrance of my home, pointing away from the front door- this is to facilitate the expulsion of negative energies from my living area-
I have a large piece of amethyst on my nightstand, with a piece of polished rose quartz on top of it-you can interpret this for yourself.
There is a chalcedony geode on the other side, as it's supossed to aide in dream recall- although I don't really notice a big difference-
I keep smaller peices of stones such as lapis lazuli, dioptase, labadorite, snowflake obsidian, fire opal, and azurite-along with my lemurian seed crystals-in a small velvet pouch, and I use them in my meditations-

I do dabble in energy work, and I use stones to amplify the effectiveness through attuning the vibrational frequency of the stone to the task at hand-usually healing, which involves specific stones that correlate with certain areas of the body or alleviate certain conditions-

Hey Nico

I really have a connection to Moldavite, it comforts me, and is the only stone I wear daily. I really feel it eases home sickness-

Don't you find it interesting how others react to the same stone? My sister couldn't hold it for long at all.. it was way too intense for her she said, whereas I felt somehow energized.. neat.

I switch mine up.. lately I have been wearing labradorite, in my line of work it comforts me

I have a large piece of amethyst on my nightstand, with a piece of polished rose quartz on top of it-you can interpret this for yourself.

Gotcha, lol.. I was going to get a rose quartz lamp, but settled on a selenite lamp with a red light bulb to make a pink glow.. fabulous

I keep smaller peices of stones such as lapis lazuli, dioptase, labadorite, snowflake obsidian, fire opal, and azurite-along with my lemurian seed crystals-in a small velvet pouch, and I use them in my meditations-

Dioptase.. the bright green.. that one has interested me before but not enough to get it yet.. what do you get from it?

My fave in meditation is probably galena.. wow! And excellent if you are into shamanic journeying at all..

I do dabble in energy work, and I use stones to amplify the effectiveness through attuning the vibrational frequency of the stone to the task at hand-usually healing, which involves specific stones that correlate with certain areas of the body or alleviate certain conditions-

Me too... one of my most expensive pieces is quartz carved into a tibetan dorje.. another very powerful one.. anbd its great for aligning the chakras and clearing the auric field.. I have used it at the end of a reiki session with great success

Another I tend to go back to a lot is lepidolite.. it is amazing during an emotional crisis.. even if it is just the "placebo" effect.. hey, whatever works

^^^ So snazzy! I would love it if you shared what made them your favorites..

It fascinates me to hear real stories as opposed to just black and white words from supposed experts on the topic

Labadorite is suppossed to protect you from energy vampires-
which makes me ask, what line of work do you do?
If you'd rather you can answer this by email.
Moldavite is said to be a personal stone-as it 'absorbs' energy in addition to putting off intense vibes- I have met alot of people who have lost pieces-and I have heard it said that it finds those who need it, and leaves those who don't- some people I know are very picky about who touches their moldavite!
I will look into galena-I am definitely inot shamanic journeys-
thats why I like to meditate with azurite-it facilitates my second sight-
I make jewlry from lepidolite, but have never really spent much time with the stone-
I only have beads-I am going through a bit of crisis right now, I may wear some for a but to see if I can detect anything.

Yup, it protects my aura so to speak..

I am a psychiatric nurse, I worked at a jail for nearly a year and am now at a psych hospital

Interesting, I had my piece wire wrapped so I could wear it, it is probably my second most worn stone. I seem to go through phases with it though...

It has lithium in it.. which is a known mood stabilizer.. so I guess in that sense lithium itself might be better? And as always, it would depend on the person : )

Let me know what you think of galena

A very good reference book is The Crystal Bible written by Judy Hall.

Good pix on the stones in the rough, polished, cut.

She tells of their powers, color, availiabilty, positions, attributes, history of some, making elixirs.

But I'm sure you coulf find all about Earth's healing gems online.

Raventalon:

Agreed, I like it too (thanks Stone )

Another good one imo is the "Book of Stones".. I like how it gives interpretations from two sources and it too has great pictures. Have you heard of "Love is in the earth"? That one is very in depth and would take a lifetime to get through!

I agree too that online is a great source of info.. are there any specific sites that you have found to be good?

I have been collecting Stones since I was a child. Later in life I started collecting crystals. Once at a rock show I picked up this one crystal and within seconds of holding it in my right hand it started to heat up. It's the first time I have ever felt the engery off a crystal. So I started reading more about it.

My favorites are.... Amethyst- Rose Quartz- Clear Crystal.... together

Amethyst is a stone of the mind. It helps to bring calmness and clarity where there is anxiety and confusion. Wear Amethyst if you want to get in touch with your intuition, your feelings, or your values. Amethyst helps one learn of all things spiritual, mystic and psychic.

As Amethyst is to the Spirit, so Rose Quartz is to the Heart. Self Love, and Personal Worth
Enhances all forms of love: self love, mother love, caring, kindness, platonic and romantic love.

Amethyst effects are enhanced when combined with Rose Quartz. Amethyst calms the mind, while Rose Quartz soothes the heart and heals past emotional wounds. Together they balance Heart, Mind, and Soul. Clear Quartz crystal, (an energizer and amplifier ) will enhance the effects of both crystals.
