**i wrote this originally in my myspace blog, so there are some referances to local stores.**

so everyone knows that the economy has gone to shit. but you kno its not only the governments fault. can you say wallmart? and where does most of that money go? not back into our economy!! it goes into other countries thus makeing america poorer.

i have a plan. it should be done nationally, but its not something that can be voted on. people will actually have to put effort out *GASP*

we should all make an effort to buy from local stores. CRAZY?! i kno, it'll take money and efffort. but think about it this way. you buy from the store in downtown and that money will go directly to the person who owns it, therefore going directly back into the local economy. you spend said money at wallmart and 1/2 will go into another country.

now b4 you get your panties in a twist, you can still go and buy shit you need at wall mart. laundry detergent, toilet paper, mascara, etc you cant buy at a local store. so by all means buy it at wally world or kmart. but not rite aid b/c they're duche bags.

but when aunt sally's b-day is coming up and you think she'd like a new purse, go downtown!! ms. nails, puple moon, michles, and that new shop in the old town mall ( i tihnk they have purses?) go THERE. pick up some really nice stones at purple moon while your at it. oh and you haven't gotton laid in 3 months? ms. nails will have something for you *wink* that new store that i cant remeber the name of has lots of dresses and shoes! (the shoes btw are way kooler than in payless) how bout chistmass presants for your little brother? poppsies had CANDY!! and little toys and what nots. theres also a shop for cooking.

so, try to buy more often from local stores. it'll help our economy, allot.

I hate Wal-Mart. I only go there when I absolutely have to, only at 'the uttermost end of need.'

I just hate the whole atmosphere of the place. There's always a million people in there, it's claustrophbic, and as soon as I walk in I can't wait to get out. And they're like Starbucks, they're everywhere. There are three Wal-Marts within 20 minutes of where I live. I'm a Fred Meyer guy. Prices are great and they have everything!

Sandgirl you both are right. I ussed to work in a store and there were many nice ladys that would have been fun to talk to longer than "good morning and have a good day" but when the able to take advantage of the seeing so many people I was to busy to take the conversation further. It is still up lifting to see friendly people so I say hello and sometimes they say hello back- makes me feel warm all over and cared for to have them smile back at me.

Why not shop at your local drugstore for the mascara? OR BETTER YET---DO YOU REALLY NEED MASCARA? it's not just the economy that we're talking about. that mascara was probably made in china. If your worried about having money then why are you buying mascara? JMO.

And there's no reason to go to walmart- they aren't any cheaper then other box stores. and when they are its only by like $2 or $3. Toilet paper is sold in every grocery store, and department store and even dollar stores in america- you dont HAVE to go to walmart for it.

true you dont have to go to walmart for anything really.

but most people wont listen to you if you say to boycott one place. so instead i'm just emphisizing buying more from local stores when you can.

oh and teh mascara... personally i like wearing it when i feel like dressing up. and i wasnt really talking about saveing money, that's ironically what makes the whole economic situation worse. in america allot of people live outside of their means getting themselves in debt then to save money they buy stuff that come from overseas. (not that there's much to buy thats made in the US anymore)

I think people should make an emphasis on making it all themselves. Most things are not hard to make.

Shopping at thrift stores is local, good for the environment, AND good for your wallet, as well as good for human and animal rights.

Like if you actually want to buy fur(which Im against) its better to buy it from an animal that already died along time ago. Unfortunately you cant do that with meat.

buy the way though, the money spent at goodwill doesnt stay local, but it doesnt go to another country either. Its way better to go to the mom and pops type of thrift/antique stores.
