I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Am I just one of those guys women don't like? Will I be alone forever? Some days I feel like I'm doomed to fail. I send out at least a dozen messages a week, maybe one will reply, I'll reply back and never hear from her again. It's enough to want to give up and never try again.

I think sometimes there are dry seasons we all go through. I looked at your profile and it's good. I can give a couple of suggestions, although I'm by no means an expert. You mention wanting to create some board games -- are there some out there that you like to play? You might add a few specific ones to your keywords. Also, (and this was suggested to me for my profile) you might want to put a picture or two on there of you smiling or laughing. Smiling/laughing pictures have a more "approachable" air to them. The one on there is good, but you look a bit serious in it.
Hope this helps. Good luck in your search.

I am sorry to hear that, but I know it is hard to meet people. You are too young for me but you look nice and sound nice. Don't give up. There are lots of women out there who would love to have a good man in their life. I know it is frustrating. I am going through the same thing. I go to work and home. So where the heck do you meet people? Hang in there! The right one is out there and you will find each other. Take care, hon.

I've use to live in Oly for quite a few years and one of the things i miss the most was going to town and having coffee on the weekends, Theres tons of great places with different atittudes and qualitys. Just grab a cup of coffee and a paper and chill. this may sound weak, but what else do you have to lose!....Good luck to all!

Hey, OP...you aren't alone at ALL. I get the same exact response !(3 months now)
And after reading for months on Seattle and Washington forums, there seems to be a LOT of this going around.
In fact, the people that I think I match up with the MOST in common interests and background, are often the LEAST responsive at all !
Whats going on ?
Not sure.
But this internet stuff is pretty much a dud for meeting people you'd like to meet(for GUYS anyway).
After 3 months now, I just use the internet dating sites to read the forums and wonder at the situation !
But one thing is clear. You aren't alone in this. And you shouldn't take it personally.
One suggestion I have is to find a strong, active Karaoke bar. One you can try is "The Point", I think, in Tumwater. Another is that restaurant/bar just off the freeway(Trosper exit) by Costco. There are others, you could ask around.
There is usually no shortage of women in your age group that like to get up and sing, or watch guys get up and sing. And these girls are hardly movie stars...just regular fun-loving and/or lonely girls out on the town. A meat market ? Not exactly. But its a good place to practice up on talking to real live people...and ESPECIALLY if you step up and learn a few songs and "entertain" the bar yourself !! Yep. I wasn't even looking when I did it, and I was 20 years older than most, and I saw a LOT of interested faces I could have TALKED to at least...but I was with a group the times I went.
And now that I see how the internet dating world is, I'd MUCH rather take my chances at a Karaoke bar ! Not only can I get "introduced" to some of the women when they perform, but I can "introduce" myself as well. Even if you DON'T sing, at least you can watch and have fun ! And there are girls in your age group playing POOL as well.
And the age range is mostly in YOUR age group. I would be deemed too "old" mostly. If I were you, I'd learn some songs(or not) and check the scene out for a couple of months.
Its gotta be better than your track record on internet dating sites, right ?
There must be a dozen good Karaoke bars in the Oly area. Good luck !

I haven't had much luck with internet sites, either. I like the forums and enjoy reading the posts.
I looked at your profile and think it's fine. You sound sincere and interesting. I think a picture of you smiling might be a good idea.
I met my last boyfriend at a karioke bar. My only caution would be that most people you meet in bars are drinkers. Alcohol tends to skew our perceptions and judgements. Just keep that in mind.
One peice of advise that I would pass along to all, and I also try to keep in mind, is that you tend to meet people when you aren't looking. The harder we seek, the more futile it seems. Relax and have fun. You'll find yourself more attractive to others when you are having a good time yourself. Good luck to us all!

There have been a few get togethers this year. Just keep watching the Washington Chat threads for the next one. And of course, anyone could organize one in their own area, if Bonney Lake is too far.
