I would love to hear ideas on this as well. I have a chihuahua/terrier mix who destroys any and all toys within 10 minutes of getting ahold of it. Even the kongs, the ones that are suppose to be virtually impossible to destroy he had mutilated it in a day.

The CHEWBER is VERY sturdy. It is NON Chinese rubber with a fiberglass mesh cooked between the rubber discs. It was Katie's fav toy. She was quite rough with it but after 7 YEARS I could have washed it off and sold it as new.

It makes a good water / food dish. You can roll it up and put it in your pocket. It DOES NOT get super hard in the cold so it won't break teeth like most Frisbies® can and do in the winter. It makes a great find/attaboy reward for training. It FLIES better than a Frisbie® too.

Dogs have been chewing sticks for what(?) 11 million years? 12? More? They've been eating BIRDS for at least that long too. COOKED chicken bones get brittle and break off in shards so that's a no no but all the crap we get these days about what'll kill a dogs .... gimmie a break. If a species has been doing something for millions of years and they are still a species then maybe the old, "D't let them eat / chew / look at *****" is probably nonsense.

What'll kill 'em faster than anything is some of the made in you know where mush dog food completely devoid of any nutrients and lacking a shred of fibre to keep their teeth clean or their intestines from looking like packed Silly Putty®

Couldn't have said it better myself!!!!!

The vets that I used to work with always recommended the Nylabone products for heavy chewers....

Good Luck

Nylabones are good, I never saw a dog that did not like them.

Some dogs do wear them out though.

Bowling balls are available at most thrift stores for $3-5.

Peanut butter in the finger holes gets the dog interested.

My two little dogs love Flossies..the beef tendons. They chew on them for hours and the flossies clean their teeth. I buy the large ones because they last longer and are not that much more expensive. My dogs love them and they won't touch any other dog chew products. Another good thing is they are made in the USA. My dogs seem to be addicted to them.

kong toys are great.
You can stuff them with all sorts of things...
peanut butter, dog treats, leftovers...
will keep them busy for hours.

For just regular toys, the only thing I've ever gotten that has lasted is from BIG DOGS...
I'm sure you have seen the clothes with the Big Dog logo...
well they have a line of dog toys. I picked up a very large orange dog bone shaped toy for my rotty/catahoula mix over 6 months ago and it's still in one piece! If you knew my Bear, you would know that's incredible!
