I have a 1994 Ford Ranger 2 wheel drive.....and I put a new main line on the brake system that goes from the proportion valve (under the cab area) strait back to the rubber hose that splits the rear line across the rear end...but .... when I tried to bleed the line at the rear drivers side... no fluid was coming thru the line from the proportion valve???? I did take the line fron the proportion valve loose and tried to pump the brakes for proof the fluid was moving thru the line...but .... nothing came thru....is there some trick needed here>>> HELP

May need to check a manual. I forget if thats one of those ones that requires a scan tool to open an ABS valve in there. I think we did that on a 2.3 ranger a friend had.

Just noticed your question and I had a similar problem with a Taurus and it turned out that the rear flex hose going to that wheel cylinder had collapsed, also to get the valve to work release the brake peddle a little (you may hear the valve release with a click)then press the brake a little harder. open both bleeder valves in the rear....
you'll need a helper
push the brake pedal, half way down...
DO NOT go to the floor...
while holding the pedal halfway down..close the bleeder valves..
that should center the valve...
if you still have probs...do the samething , to the front
good luck ....

Best thing that works for me are Speed-Bleeders. They are a fairly new bleeder screw with a spring loaded check ball inside. You don't need a helper to push the Brake pedal down for you. Remove your original bleeder screws, install the Speed-Bleeders (very gently as they will snap if tourqued too tight). Loosen them a little bit too allow fluid to flow out when you press the brake pedal. When you release the pedal the check ball will prevent air from reentering your system. Tighten them down and see what you have.
