Hi everybody here in OHIO land....I am an OHIOan too well kinda sorta--I can elucidate a bit
on that but first I am Jaxeager2dateU or more accurately just JACK or CF and I have been
living in a hobbit hole here in Ohio for a few years now--actually since 1995. I am newly
retired too--albeit I have been retired now for about three years--that's approx. I am
64 1/2 or will be in June 2009. I'm gonna try my best too to be civil and tacitly PC--that's Politically Correct and usually I am never that way so its a bit hard for me to
do. I'm a lazy person but usually when you retire you end up going thru that period when
you are just plain lazy and I'm in that mode right now. I've experienced homelessness so
I can understand how it feels to those experiencing it and its not a nice feeling at all.
I have traveled some too due to being homeless and I had a rather nice experience when I
went to Charleston, S.C. for two months in 2006. I decided to return because my daughter
was pregnant and I am glad that I did so as I have been a big help to her since my return
and its taught me too to be closer to my family too. She has three children now so she
pretty much has her hands full but young mother's usually do and so far she'd handled it all
just fine and I am happy for her and also for the privilege of seeing my grandchildren first
hand and up close--its a really great feeling and its priceless too. I like OHIO and my
favorite areas are some of the local lakes near where I live as well as going occassionally
up to Lake Erie which is our crown jewel. I am trying to talk about OHIO so I will mention
that my son went to OSU and I think it is one of the best Universities in the country and
I also support OSU sports. I love OSU football as well as OSU basketball and when I get a
chance too I try to keep up on other OSU sports. For the future of OHIO too I am one of those who advocates a better rail transit system here in OHIO and one that could be connected in the future too with other states rapid transit systems so we could eventually
end up with a system similar to what Europe has and which we should have had long ago since
we had one of the best rail systems in the world during the WWII years and it just seemed
to fall appart as the years went by after WWII which is a said state of affairs for a country like ours. We need a regrowth of infrastructure but it needs to be thought out
and not politically based so I guess I am stepping on toes now but then I have always done that. Finally I will end this with the comment that we all need to see what each of
us can do even if its just a little step to help our neighborhood, our city, and our state
as even little tiny things matter when they are counted by the MAN that we all trust will
make things right for our world and I am not referring to a politician either....so that
is my small contribution and if I have overstepped any bounds I will hear I am sure....til
