Hey guys i have a good question. Well when i first moved up to phillipsburg i didn't know anyone and immediatly went to college about 220 miles away. Anyways all the friends up here i made i kinda don't hang out with or chill with anymore for reasons of drugs and just being dumb asses. Its something i don't want to fall back into. So how can a guy make new MALE friends with out coming off as gay... I have no idea how to do this and I dun really just wanna walk up to random guys and start a convo cuz it would feel awkward. So any ideas...

First of all, did you graduate from college? That is one of the best places to meet new friends. Secondly, are you working? Next best palce to meet friends. It doesn't have to be a gay thing........how about "anyone interested in grabbing a beer tonight or shooting a game of pool?" Do you like sports? Join a men's sport league.
It is hard to meet new friends and I realize that. As a single woman my age, most of my best friends are married. I have had to begin building new relationships too.

If you want to meet someone, you need to spruce up that profile a bit. Never say you are too busy to go out. Secondly, you want to get away from dumb asses and druggies? You need a new look that would bring you toward the type of people that you are looking to meet. JMHO

well where i was working it was all meth and crack addicts who were 30-55 so yeah lol i got laid off there and am looking for a new job. I'm not interested in sports lol and getting a beer I try not to drink unless i got a DD cuz i got a DUI about a year ago. I've been looking 2 meet a girl just to hang out with and hopefully meet her friends to get a new circle of friends but thanks for your input

Find something to do...It's the easiest, and probably really the only, way to meet people. I get together with most of my guy friends to watch a big wrestling PPV, sports game, or to play sports. We don't drink or do drugs (I don't do that); we just relax, have a pizza, soda, chips, and hang out.
I know you said you aren't big on sports, but there's other things too. I'm currently in a self-defense class, and everyone else in there are guys (girls are welcome to join too, there just aren't any). Granted, we'd probably never hang out outside of class, but it's a way to meet people. You could also hang out with your female friends - they may have guy friends that you have something in common with, and you can start talking about that.
Check out meetup.com and craigslist for activities that interest you. Once you find something that interests you, and you meet others, starting conversations won't be awkward.

Look for the category that you are interested in - everything you can think of....They have meetups in different areas and you get to meet people who share a likewise hobby or interest...
Its worth a look - only take you a few seconds..
