I had one of the most magical experiences in my life with a man that I truly had a spiritual, soulful connection. We met online (another site, but similar to DateHookup.dating). We shared emails and he was exceptionally articulate and intellectual. He sent me emails that met all of my qualifications for a man that approaches a woman in a classy, respectful manner.

We finally talked on the phone and I was in Southern CA at the time, watching the Super Bowl, but that night he and I talked on the phone from 8pm until 4am the next day. I had a flight to catch and he had to go to work, but we just couldn't stop talking. He is a connoisseur of music (or that's what I called him) since he is also a DJ as a hobby; therefore,he had all the old school R&B songs that I grew up with and he played them for me while we were on the phone. One of the songs was "Holding back the years" by Simply Red which I hadn't heard in ages and just the fact that he picked that song to share with me touched me deeply. We truly have a soulful connection unlike any other I had previous to that moment and ever since. I believe he is my Twin Love.

We finally decided to meet and when we met it was amazing. I don't recommend being intimate with someone that you just met face-to-face, but we shared so many emails and phone calls that I knew that I knew him even before we touched for the very first time.

Well, we spent the entire weekend together. We only planned to meet and see where things go and at no time did we plan to spend the entire weekend together, but we couldn't let each other go. It was beautiful, it was wonderful, and when it was over, we continued to talk, see each other and share our love.

Unfortunately, things got a bit strange over time (can't pinpoint exactly what occurred), but he slowly drifted away. We communicated via text only, but even that became less and less and I knew that he was continuing his life journey seeking new adventures and experiences of which I wasn't a part of. I haven't seen him face-to-face in about 7 months or so.

I will never forget him and I always want to keep him close in my life. Again, I believe he is my Twin Love; however, we are not together and I don't hear from him anymore so I'm sure you all would probably say, "Move on" which I tried, but there hasn't been anyone else like him since and I believe there may never be; however, I'm keeping my options open since he isn't in my life right now.

Have any of you had an experience like this and if so, how did you deal with it?

Thanks for reading thru this and sharing your thoughts...

By the way, I wrote this poem for this special man almost a year ago and it still touches me now every time I think of him...

If just for one moment...

If just for one moment, I want to feel your heart beating next to mine
I want to feel the rustle of the sheets as we lay side-by-side
Enchanted with your kisses; mesmerized by your soulful eyes
I never knew a touch could mean so much…

If just for one moment, I want to know that the sky will open up one day;
Pick us up with the wind and take us sailing homeward bound
Laughing and playing while loving and holding one another
Baby, you belong to me, if just for one moment…

If just for one moment, I would rather be with you until I’m through
I would rather be with you until that day we fly away
I just love your smiling face in the early sun,
if I can’t have you to myself, life’s no fun…if just for one moment…

If just for one moment, I will give you all the love I have to give
I’ll give you all I have inside; reaching deep inside my soul
For as a bird in a cage, you give me the freedom of an open door
And my love and soul soar from the heavens just for you…

If just for one moment, I would rather see your smile and hear your songs
Sweet love songs from the heart, straight from the heart
Because what we have is much more than anyone can see
Can’t you see the love sent from above? My life is changing Baby...to be with you for just one moment…

If just for one moment, I have filled the space in your heart with all I have to give
And as a bird in a cage, the door is open for you my love to soar free
For I have taken your love, balled it up in my hands and gently blew you away
So that you could soar free in the heavens and return ever so gently to the palm of my hands some day...

If just for one moment, I would do anything just to be with you
I belong to you baby today and always until the day we fly away
In the sky, hand and hand, staring into each other’s eyes
No powerful love have I ever felt before…If just for one moment with you…

No, it wasn't a one-night stand - it was a long-term relationship that eventually drifted away; however, receiving a response to just move on is the easy way out. Why do people always believe that is the only answer for anything. No wonder we as a people never get anything right cuz we run at the first sign of conflict or disagreement or drama.

Thanks for the opinions, but unless you can give me more than a one-liner, pass me by please...

Actually after a good night's sleep, I decided that the gentlemen above are absolutely correct. We all should just continue on with our lives whenever we question "why" in our relationships for first of all, is it really a relationship or just a friendship or just nothing. Once determined, get the heck on...

You guys are wonderful for keeping it real and I apologize for not responding in kind.

Hang in there and we will all get what we deserve in this life so keep our chins up, continue being positive, and don't go looking for it, for it will come when it is the right timing.

Thanks and have a great rest of the weekend!
