We went on with life and became very unique amazing people.......... What was the one thing you wish someone had told you......or the one thing someone told you and you didn't listen to? xxlizzybeexx Stafford Springs, CT age: 30	I wish someone taught me early on that adiction is a lifelong, progressive and fatal disease that ruins your life emotionally, physically, and spritually, that there is no cure, and it only takes one time to become addicted. Once you become addicted there are only 4 places you will end up...jails,institutions,death..or for the lucky ones recovery. That would have saved me alot of pain, and heartache. At least i have the chance to teach my children the hard lessons i had to learn.

However people with diabietes and cancer aren't judged the way people who suffer from addiction are. I know first hand the impact addiction can have on a an idividual as well as their family. I strive to help raise awareness as well as educate those unfamiliar with the ugly realities of this life taking illness. It's been a long road and will continue to be until i take my last breath. Thanks for reconizing the struggle and the encouraging words.
