FORTRESS MAC just got a predator known as a trojan...hit them hard.
I got a newsletter on it two days ago...E-WEEK says MAC can no longer hang onto their vise grip of incapable of being invaded.
so..how is the FORTRESS this week for you??

Well like any virus you have to catch it....
So far I know of no one personally that has...
Never heard of FORTRESS MAC BTW. (seems that is the name of the article, it was a jab at Macs apparently)
Calm down photo... yer foolin nobody... yer banana is rotten too..... lol
found this on eWeek's site:
Sunbelt Software and Intego, a maker of Mac security software, are warning that a mother lode of spam has been posted to many Mac forums in an attempt to trick users into visiting sites with rigged porn photos. The photos are from reputed porn videos. If Mac users click on the stills to view the videos, they're taken to a site that informs them that the QuickTime Player is unable to play the movie file. They're then instructed to click to download a new codec.
**********
Basically it seems ya have to be a porn enthusiast and ya have to download something.. not something I would do in any case. I don't even look at .wmv format movies on my Mac. I deleted ALL the Microshaft software that came on it too.
I read a bit more and ya have to download it, and ya have to give it a password to load. Sounds like it would be something a TARD would do.
It's a trojan not a virus...

I said it was a trojan...please re-read my original post. I never said it was a virus.
As to the other remarks, I am at a loss why you are so defensive.
I quoted an article from E-Week with credit to them, in the posting. They titled the article FORTRESS MAC..which you correctly picked up on.
Anyone that would like to read more about the article may find it at E-week.com.

oh...
I did not mean to rile up old rough waters..I had no idea...Just joined this group.
I thought it helpful to make note that the MAC will now suffer a trojan. BE-WARE
I hate to see people loose data and have to do a recovery process. I like to help
and share with computer information....nothing else.
Take the good with the bad...just get the information to flow.
Next conversation? There are new hard drives out there..anyone try them?
I have not, but I am considering the reliability.
