its really hard to find someone on here that doesnt drink.i search profiles and maybe come up with one in ten. if we had a place that only people with (non drinker) in there profile could go it would be easyer for us to find each other. and it could go both ways.have another group for all the drinkers too.

Hi there...non-drinker here...although I keep my profile hidden...for friends only...I'm not against someone having a drink once in a while...as long as they can leave it alone...aren't an alcoholic....I also seem to be having a problem finding someone I'm interested in that doesn't drink..or is a light social drinker...that smokes....anyone else having that problem?

That's a real good idea, at one time when I first came to this site I wrote down all the names of men who didn't drink, the list wasn't very long but that was then and most of them are gone so yeah I'd like a group like that to check in on.

I agree with all of you. I don't post much myself. We have tried to get this going before...don't know whatever happened. congrats gman! it can be a long hard row to tow. i first quit at 23,had a few relapses since.i was a binge drinker.from sun up to lights out,usally my own.lol.
it would be nice to find a woman that dont drink.

Good idea! I vote yes. I never message men first, but when I hear from one who may interest me, I do check that out on their profile. I don't mind a light, social drinker, but a non drinker is best for me. I think drinkers prefer other drinkers.
I've never been a drinker simply because I can't stand the taste!!
A non-drinker's group would be nice.

The only time that I have ever drink was when I was at a Japanese steak house. I was sitting there at a hibachi enjoying the guy cooking and he was tossing pieces of shrimp into some people's mouth. I gave it a try. On the third try, he got it in. Then he gave me a shot a sakie for it. I tasted like non-flavor Nyte Quil. It was just a shot though, but every time I go to a hibachi steak house, I somehow get a shot a sakie from the cook.
Does that make me a drinker?

I like the idea of a sober bar Lost. Some might think the same as a coffee shop but not so. I went to my local favorite bar to sit elbow to elbow with people and talk, laugh, invite to a pool game, play jukebox, tell and listen to jokes and funny bullc hit...can't get that in a cafe if you don't know anyone but you can in a bar. I miss that even if they don't remember you the next day, it's all about one day at a time anyway. I have been sober since march 15th, 1986...I did take a wine communion one Easter with my Mom and got lit up like a roman rocket.. no more church for me since. So with the exception of that one communion a couple years into my 23 years, no drinking. Ferbie, I got sober in Ames, Iowa too.

good for you danna! i quit in my early 20's,have had a couple relapses (after the divorses)but bounced back after my BP went thru the roof agin.lol. a no booze bar would be cool.just like a real one but sober,lol.could evan get a band on saturday nights and shake a leg.have pool tournaments and darts.and no one under 18.lol

I drink once in a great while, only on what I consider special occaisions, and just when I want to.. Maybe once a year or so. I had some booze for New Years last year, and just stayed at home. I don't drink to get drunk, just for the fun, or taste. I like Bailey's Irish Creme, and several other drinks, just don't need it or want it that much at all.
Christmas, or New Years, or maybe on my B-Day. Yes, a non drinkers group would be good!

I've get 13yrs sober and its hard to find people to go out with that don't drink .
hell i've been in here for two yrs and still have not found a lady to date .

Finding a non-drinker definately limits the pool. You were saying 1 in 10 were non-drinkers? Seems to me like it's closer to one per state, maybe I'm just not looking hard enough!?? You have a good point though, I was wondering about that myself, except I was thinking more of a recovery based site or chat room!
