I agree with Gem. Completely. You are what you feel. It't not a matter of being stuck on yourself, but completely comfortable with who you are. Would I love to lose weight? Sure. Am I stressing about it & hiding behind closed doors in the light of day? No way-no person will make me feel inferior without my permission, therefore...I am happy being the person I am & that is an awesome feeling!

There was a poll on the main page for suggested topics. One suggestion was a BBW thread - but most of the posts were from women who wanted the site. Geez, that seems a bit contorted for a dating site. I thought it would be more appropriate to start an Arkansas thread (because that's where I live!) that helped identify men attracted to large women .
I did not see anything on the profile to indicate that as an interest. I read plenty of male profiles who prefer thin or athletic; there must be some folks out there with preferences toward the other end of the body shape spectrum.
By the way ... I AM in shape. Round is a shape.

I agree with you. surely there are some men out there that realize we can not all look like we did in our twenty's. my sister said she went to sleep one night woke up bloated and 10 years later she was still bloated. My daughter explains her's as a Buddha belly. If you like someone you dont care about there size.beside some men need to look in the mirror.there not quiet the same any more either.

OP, you may want to do a search on BBW or weight threads in the forums. They usually get ugly no matter how respectfully you worh the thread, even if you are not whining or complaining. Now, most of the Arkansas guys have more sense than that, so you'll probablye OK here.
I have always been a bigger gal. Even when I was young and thin and swimming varsity I wore a size 14. I sure didn't have any trouble drawing the guys back then. Anyway, I have gone out with a few guys in the last year and a half that said my size now didn't matter, but not any that were specifically attracted to larger ladies. Personally, I don't want to be a "fetish". I started eating healthier and joined a gym, and in 2 months, I am down 26 pounds, and counting. After the first 10 pounds, I felt a drastic difference in my energy, and that was before I added the gym. Now I feel really good, and my self confidence is so much better. I have a long way to go, but I am looking at this as a lifestyle change to get and stay healthy. I highly suggest it if you are able.

Touchy subject.....wow! Everyone has an opinion and here's mine: What makes a woman "hot" is not the same thing that makes her attractive. It is certainly not what makes her worthy. One can say that a woman "blessed" with the good looks of a Victoria's Secret or Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition model is attractive today. A few hundred to several thousands of years ago when times were different, big was definitely more beautiful (goggle the "Venus of Willendorf" and see what was beautiful back then). Narrow definitions of "beauty" have been the stuff of myth and legend thoughout the ages; and it changes. My view is that what makes a woman "hot" is who she is and what she does; it is not the size of the clothes she wears.

I dont even send date emails to any woman who says they're average in body size or better. I know they're not interested in this BHM and it would just be a waste of time to try to contact them.

Jeff, I sincerely wish more people had this attitude. I kinda wonder if all the people that have been really screwed over and hurt and are bitter had just dated someone a little less vain and more average looking if there would have been less screwing over. You don't often hear of a man bitter and lonely because his size 16 dates cheated on him, you know? Of course, my ex wasn't all that good looking and still hurt me really bad...but there was no cheating or anything going on either. It just seems like the beautiful people care less about others. Maybe?

No, I was also shocked by that comment. I think most people in this thread have hit the nail on the head -- attraction is so much more than external appearance. Additionally, there are plenty of confident BBWs.
I suspect we each have our "preferences" which were defined by past relationships. Personally, I hope to have grown beyond "liking someone" because of appearance. Certainly, as many have shared, there needs to be a level of attraction between two people for them to become a couple. Attraction is on MANY levels, but the brain remains the most sensuous organ.
