Yes, I am so tired of all this. And this climate, made only for people with viking blood, sucks . I will never return here. Not even to visit this area. It is unihabitable.

That's to bad he feels that way!! All us Washingtonians love this climate and all the sites in Washington!! You will never find a more beautiful state!
Maybe he should come when we have better weather. Or not!!!

HES been in all 4 seasons(OVER A YEAR UP THERE)
.... he paid his dues.....its a closed chapter in a book.
tons of people you talk to,,,,do not  like the N.W. FOR THAT REASON.
IN 06,,,i did not see the SUN for 8 months....THAT IS NOT GOOD !
on the positive,,,,july,,aug...& sept....are nice.....but,,,those winters are long...

It's only the people that live here. We are all used to it and take it as it comes! This is a beautiful state and I would not want to live anywhere else.

Yha he needeed to stay long enough to get climitized. It is beatuiful here with all the Mts. I was born and raised in Chicago and I would never move back if they gave it to me.

My honey has a home in Lake Havasu City AZ for when he retires...He too does not like what weather we have 9 months of the year here in WA...Myself I dont know any different...I was raised here...

Its really a shame that you do not like this area. I moved here 8 years ago from Nebraska, which had 4 distinct seasons. I totally love it here. Where else can you get the mountains, desert, ocean, rain forest all in 1 state, and lets not forget volcano's and SNOW!!!

I can understand where your brother is coming from. I'm originally from Eastern WA and was used to 4 real seasons. The Puget Sound area has some pretty tough weather for people who aren't used to it. (Poor guy.) At the same time, it's hard to find a place with so much geographic and cultural diversity. The diversity of the area and fewer natural disasters definitely are worth getting used to the weather for. At least in my opinion.

That's nice, two less cars on the road, two less saying negative things about our climate, spreading the word to all who will listen, discouraging more from moving here.

21, I agree with you. I hope they tell everyone what a nasty place this is to live.
If you go for 8 months here without seeing the sun, you stayed indoors and kept the curtains pulled shut. I have lived and worked my entire life in the outdoors in the PNW. Maybe I have some of that viking blood in me but the weather here is more tolerable than most places.

I moved here from CA on 5/1/04. The next day there was 2" of snow on my grass. Two weeks later there was another 2". Here it is May 13th and it's pouring down rain. I have a rose garden (50 roses) that would normally be blooming about now. Because of all the rain and no sun, they don't even have buds.
I leave every Dec and go to either Maui or Puerto Vallarta. This year I came back on the day the snow storm started. We got in a 11 p.m., it was 23 degrees, 6" of snow and we had to stand in line 3 hours for a taxi. Everyone was opening their suitcases and passing warm clothes down the line.
Twice a year I go to CA for my solar recharge. I just got back on the 9th. My first morning there I ran outside in my bathrobe just to stand in the sun. It was beautiful the entire time I was there. Oh yes, I went for a job interview. I just can't take the darkness that starts in Nov. I get depressed and never leave the house for months.
I would never "put down" this state. It's beautiful, but it's not for everyone.

your brother should not blame washington for his issues.
climate should not be his excuse either.maybe he has lack of motivation
or a problem making friends.there are many things to do here inside as well as out.
and a year is not suitable for paying dews.
there is no possible way to even begin to explore the majestic scenery's hidden back
country awesome parks and trails mountain peaks ocean views
its his lost to leave before understanding the beautifull evergreen state
oh and to trade it in for lawnchair in the desert. YEA RIGHT CACTUS AND SCORPIONS
