I was given a coby player...with it came a tiny little cd which i have never seen before.
instructions say i need wmp11 to dwnld mp3's..
Questions: What is that lil dude cd called? Is it suppose to work in my cd rom?
I have os98se and wmp 7....is there a way to get files onto this mp3 player using wmp 7 or some other program other than wmp11?
thanks

i have downloaded with 98 and the older win amps before. The cd should go into a small indentation on cd drawer.Does the mp3 player plug into usb port, either player alone or with a cable?I have had to use the cd with 98 because it didnt have drivers for the player.
Someone else might be able to help more. or mayby ask in chat.

olli-, thanks...i thought that lil dude cd might work in my cd rom, but was not sure...
was very tired when i was doing that...today i looked on contents of cd and couldn't find an install icon...tried to install using driver reinstall in device manager and that didn't work....
device does not show in "my computer"
have it hooked up with usb cable and i guess battery is charging as battery icon is sequencing...
i did find that if i can get pc to reckognise the thing and drivers loaded i can drag and drop files , so i don't need the wmp11 to do that...
i'll play with it and read some more in the tiny , strangly worded instruction booklet and maybe i will figure it out...have never used one of these before.
thanks...

One of the problems i had with 98 was it didnt have drivers for things like that.My xp recognises mp3 as "mass storage device"You might try to use( run) under start ---run
try typing (program name).exe ...or mayby cd would show up in computer and then click on it there.hope it works.

coby tech was going to send a driver in email...never got it...so, i played with the cables on my backup computer that has xp and fired it up...like you said, it never even blinked when it saw the player...transfered some files...
i tried to set up some folders in the player, but they don't show on menue...i don't want all audio files in one file, but that is what happened...
thanks...
