Question

How do all of you store your planters for the winter ? I purchased three large ceramic this past summer, and would hate to loose them.
I reside in N. Kentucky and our temps usually dip well past freezing.

Are you just storing empty planters or is there something in them?

If they are empty nothing to worry about just make sure the rain/snow can't get in them and stay where the ice could bust them.

If they have dirt but no plants cover them up now o they will be dried out by the first hard freeze.

If they have plants it depends on what kind of plant as to whether you need to bring them in or just cover them.

The main thing i would worry about would be excessive water in them(unless you have a non-cold-hardy plant).

Hi, I grew up in Campbell County. We put our pots indoors in winter, I do recall that. In those days, houses had
"windowsills" for pots, and we had the windows filled with small houseplants. But the large pots, they put in the
cellar. How do the nurseries store planters / pots your way? I know that some planters stayed out all year
and were used all year, but they were stone/cement planters.

Clean with soap and water to prevent bacteria next growing season. Store upside down so water doesnt collect and maybe put in the garage, your fine.
