The Marriage
Tonight as I sit here gazing at the stars,
asking myself why we are apart;
one question fills my mind,
does she know she holds my heart.
Why did I let her go away,
for what did I plan to acheive;
I hope she knows how much I love her,
I shouldn't have let her leave.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder,
that I have always been told;
but somehow that does not comfort me,
I wish she were here to hold.
So as I look up tonight,
in the cold dark winter sky;
I count the minutes til her return,
and the knot we both shall tie.
In Springtime we shall marry,
for then it shall be done;
no longer our hearts to be sad,
for then we shall be as one.
