I was in bed asleep, with my baby girl.
The phone ringing woke me up....
It was I Auntie Renee in London telling to turn on the t.v.....
She said that all of Manhattan was gone!
I was so scared.....All the worst possible scenarios were chasing each other through my mind!
Then I got hold of myself and made a few phone calls.
First to my ex......He had flown out that morning!
Then to some old friends who knew what was REALLY happening!

I was off work watching in total disaray very angry
until I heard there was a daycare on one of the floors
then I lost it spent the rest of the day in tears
freedom paid a heavy heavy price that day
they say in the bible to forgive
but this is something I will never forgive

I took a quick glance at the tv while I was waiting for my ride to pick me up for work. The second tower had just been hit and they were replaying it over and over. My heart sank because it was just so tragic, even though I hadn't yet heard anything about it being a possible terrorist attack, but I didn't have time to watch more, because my ride was honking his horn in my driveway. We were already running late, so instead of listening to the radio on the way to the job site, we discussed how to accomplish what we needed to get done that day.
We were working outside, and had a lot to get done, so we didn't have any tv, radio, or phones anywhere near us. We went to his truck on our lunch break and turned on the radio. By that time, the news reports were the only things on every station. We listened for our entire break, but had to finish our jobs for the day, which was incredibly difficult under the circumstances. As soon as I got home, I went straight to the tv. My then-husband was home from work early and had been recording much of the footage. I still have the video tapes, packed away in a box in a closet, along with all the newspapers from the first couple weeks afterward.

I was at home decorating.My mum rang and asked if id seen the news which i had'nt so i turned on the tv and was met by pictures that sent a shiver down my spine it was awful.Those images will never ever leave me.

I was at home that morning getting ready to go to the Post when I got a phone call from my friend, said turn on the TV we are under attack! I said " whatever,thats not funny." I turned on the TV to find the first tower burning and general confusion on the airwaves. While we were talking we both watched ,live, the second aircraft hit the second tower. Thats when the Klaxons went off on Post.........it was something I will never forget.

I was on my way to work and had stopped at Walmart to buy pantyhose. When I got back in my car, one of my favorite songs was playing. They interrupted the song for the announcement and before I realized what it was I said out loud, "This had better be important for them to interrupt my song!" Drove straight to my office and the other guys there already had the tv on watching the coverage.
My supervisor was in our office that day and he was keeping us updated from his computer. I just remember when he said that the first tower was collapsing. I said, "But it cant. There are still people in there." I'll NEVER forget that feeling. NEVER. I just sat at my desk and cried for all those victims. The ones in the tower AND their families.

I was in Washington DC, working for the excavation company that put the steam-lines in at Howard University. It was very eerie driving through the city on my way home...nobody was out and about, it was like a ghost town! Didn't even know what exactly had happened yet, heard all kinds of wild stories that day while working.

I was at work and the phones just stopped ringing. It was eerie. So quiet, you could hear a pin drop. Then we got a call, a customer told us what happened. People were crying at their desks. A lot of people were gathered around the TVs in the break rooms. It was totally surreal.
A week or so later, our company was one of the call centers that did the telethon. I worked from 5AM till 2AM the next morning. Volunteered my time to help. Lots of people called to doante and were crying. It was the hardest thing, taking those calls. I had a 5x8 foot American flag that I hung on the wall of our office. It just seemed to make people feel better to have it there.

I was at work when people starting saying that a plane hit one of the Towers, they called us all in the cafeteria and tuned the TV's to the news station. Our CEO came down and asked us to join him in a prayer, then he sent us home to be with our loved ones. On the way home I kept hearing on the radio that one of the planes was over Cleveland. That was so eery after knowing what they had done to the Twin Towers and here there is one right over my head.

I was at work when it happened, and I remember the descriptions of what was happening on the radio. Those paled, however, to what I saw on the news when I got home. Heartbreaking. I will never forget.....

9/10.....the calm before the storm...do you remember. I do...watched the whole thing on tv. Cried in disbeliefe and then the panic set in. My dear, dear friend of 17 yrs worked in TT1 and it wasn't till the next day I learned he happened to be in Balt, MD at a business meeting during the attacks. I was fortunate to not have lost such a special person from my life. Thank you Lord.

I was delivering a Trade show to jacob jarvis convention center that morning in manhatten new york this is a day i try to put behind me but the media and others want let that happen its also a day that should of never happened.

Just came in from work and turned the TV on. I did not see the first plane hit but I saw when the second plane hit. I cried for all those people down there. I lived in NY at that time. It did damage to everyone. i remember when the first time it happened with a rental truck. This happen a couple of years before 9/11. They had a daycare in the building and that was devastating.

every tv and radio in the hospital was blaring. there was even talk of evacuation, since we are at the highest point in the county. and the jet fighters that flew over the hospital for an hour didn't ease minds much.
