Can someone explain why is there separate parties(rep.,dem.,ind.)? And why is it all about the party(good for the party),and not about the country and nation?

Well,I just believe that we don't need two parties, and straight conservative or liberal side. I think this country needs a lot of both, and again, work for the best for America, and it's people.

it's just ne of those political things to spend out money that is what i believe. i wonder how come so many people are incarcerated even they did not commit the crime. I study criminal justice and i still don't understand why I guess we must stand up for what we believe in. choose the person you want to vote for, don't listen to the crap in the news because even in the outside the political forum there people making fun of other people and telling lies. thats my opinion

The British Whig and Tory parties gave way to the 'Federalists' (later 'Republicans') and what came to be the democratic party. Forgive me for skipping lots of civics history, (I'm sure there's someone who can fill in the blankls..) but the 2 party system is pretty common it seems in most political arenas.

I think people tend to polarize on opposite sides of major issues as a matter of course.
Notice how in politics the term 'negative campaigning' has come to describe pointing out the other candidates voting record?...Aren't we supposed to want to know that?

In my life time I have never seen anything come from the fact the United States has a two party system. It only leads to politicians learning to go against the other party regardless of what the general public need or want. You have to join the good-old-boys or you can't get anything done.

Now the worst of this is we all know it doesn't work but can't do any thing about it! Regardless of who you vote for they have to change to conform with the party and it's leaders.

THE PEOPLE DON'T MEAN A THING!!!!!

Simply put, it was inevitable that likeminded people would tend to gravitate toward one another and organize to promote their agenda, and thus the parties were born. Though never mentioned in our Constitution, I'm sure the formation of parties did not come as a surprise to the framers (yes, it actually goes back that far!). It seems to me that the more power becomes centralized in D.C., the more crucial it is to each of the two major political parties to gain or maintain control, and the more polarized we become. The System is BROKEN, and has been for a long, long time now.

"Sitting on a sofa on a Sunday afternoon
Going to the candidates debate
Laugh about it, shout about it
When you've got to choose
Ev'ry way you look at it, you lose"

Because most people can't think for themselves. They believe everything people tell them because they are either too lazy to care or mentally incapable of deciphering BS from fact. Possibly, they feel the need to fit in or feel important so they run with the crowd that best suits their personality. They could be looking at the pros but not taking into consideration the cons. It could be anything.
