ted1313 Odessa, FL age: 63	I hiked in the Sierra Nevadas and Olympic National Park in the 90's with my son on Sierra Club service trips. That experience led me to make hiking the entire Appalachian Trail as a lifetime athletic goal. I gave it up in '04 after accomplishing another of those goals, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro. Going up, actually summiting, was difficult, but the whole climb was very enjoyable. Coming down was quite painful with knee pain. I trailrun in Brooker Creek Preserve on Sundays.
