I am a single mom since my daughter was 10 years old. now She is 24 who have graduated with full scholarship from Harvard 2years ago.i am so pride of her. i feel i am the luck and happy mom in the world. This is one of my American dream come true.
My ex-husband and me married in China for 12years. He came to US 2years early then me. We both doesn't have money. the divorce agreement is who ever had the daughter other pay $ 300 Child support. on the first year of our divorce she lived with him and his girl friend. after one year i saved some money took her back live with me since then.
My advice is
1, Your Child is the first priority of your life. everything you do should consideration of if that will good for your child. included day to day small things to big plan.
2, If you don't have money, you should live with your family or share the living space with your sister or brother,( not with the relationship.) When you go out. some one can take care of your child.
3. Find the job to keep you and your child have food and roof.
4. Find the good school district to live. your child will get good education and around good kids.
5. You don't spoil your child. you need to keep the rules. He or She have to do the best for their school work.
6. Education yourself. You can go to school for job training to get more income or just study something that will improve your life. You may find Lot's of government program for free or low expanse.
7. If you have date, don't take she or he to meet your child. until your sure that one is the one will be best to your child ( mostly need at least half year or more to know who really is)
Good luck every single parent, we can do it. Children are treasure for our future.

8. You don't say anything bad of your spouse to your child. because they will feel more sad of. and they will take it as their fault. which will infect child's psychological health.
