I have used WIN XP PRO *purchased edition, upgrade* ...no problems with installation.
I have never installed 2000 so cannot comment on that scenario, but I do not think it will be an issue. You could call MSoft on 800# to be sure if you are concerned.
Windows will help you, for free if you have install problems with a new purchase.
I think Vista offers 90 day support...or they did last year.
I run VISTA on a laptop, and XP PRO on 2 other machines...

u have a couple of options. u can run dual boot with win2k & xp. but i would suggest that u upgrade to xp, because microsoft is coming to the end of life support for win2k. if you have a licenced copy of xp, i'd go with that. good luck. let me know how it works out for u.

correct! but remember, back up all of your data (songs, docs, etc...), before u install xp. make sure when during the installation, it asks what type of installation u want, choose, clean install. it will remove all of the old win2k files. this way, you won't get a dual-bootup. it will just boot up to xp. good luck.
