been there done that, it sucks, don't let the lawyers start the two of you fighting they just make more money. If you have kids they matter more than any s*** you two have been fighting over. The grass is'nt always greener .

Kimbo, divorce is a dirty nasty business and I don't wish it on anyone. Like 484 said, the lawyers are the only ones who win. And the kids loose worse of all.
It will get better, promise.

Hi Kim...it's rough, but hang in there. Someone sent me this little "story"...thought I'd pass it on.
****************************************
THE CURTAIN RODS
She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates and suitcases.
On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things.
On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candlelight, put on some soft background music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of Chardonnay.
When she had finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a few half-eaten shrimp shells dipped in caviar, into the hollow of the curtain rods.
She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.
When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for the first f ew days.
Then slowly, the house began to smell.
They tried everything, cleaning, mopping, and airing the place out.
Vents were checked for dead rodents, and carpets were steam cleaned.
Air fresheners were hung everywhere.
Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters, during which they had to move out for a few days, and in the end they even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting.
Nothing worked.
People stopped coming over to visit.
Repairmen refused to work in the house.
The maid quit.
Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move.
A month later, even though they had cut their price in half, they could not find a buyer for their stinky house.
Word got out, and eventually, even the local Realtors refused to return their calls.
Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place.
The ex-wife called the man, and asked how things were going.
He told her the saga of the rotting house.
She listened politely, and said that she missed her old home terribly, and would be willing to reduce her divorce settlement in exchange for getting the house back.
Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on price that was about 1/10 of what the house had been worth, but only if she were to sign the papers that very day.
She agreed, and within the hour his lawyers delivered the paperwork.
A week later the man and his girlfriend stood smiling as they watched the moving company pack everything to take to their new home, including the curtain rods.
I LOVE A HAPPY ENDING, DON'T YOU

Kim, it's the worst thing you go though, except for losing family members.
The lawyers drag it out, to get more money.
You think it's never going to get better.
But it does. My kids were in their late 20's, so
it was easier on them, and me. (Dealing with
young ones, has to be more difficult.)
Take the high road, no matter how rotten he is.
Make sure the kids know it has nothing to do with them.
This was not their fault ! ! !
And try not to fight in front of the little ones.
They will internalize this, and it will show up later.
Good luck, kiddo. It sucks. But you will be fine.
We've all been there. Time does heal all wounds.

After a while...
After a while you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love doesn't mean possession
and company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of an woman not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build your roads today
because tomorrows ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have ways of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
that you really are strong
and you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn...

Yep and damn glad it's happening. I gave everything to that woman and was treated like shit for years. So now I have the kids and am single and loving it. Luckly my divorce is going smooth. So i think I got the luck of the draw there. It's never easy on the kids in the beginning but it's always better in the long run. So Just hang in there and things will work itself out all in due time.
