Okay, I'll start it off. On the way home from Fla. I had pulled off into a rest area to catch a few winks before continuing on. I was really exausted and I must admit I don't see well to drive at night. I got back on the road, after about an hours nap, and was driving about 75 mph. I was passing a semi when I saw construction signs, you know, the ones with the lights on top, but didn't notice they were merging into one lane. I was going too fast to stop, and I was even with the front wheels of the semi, so I gunned it and JUST got in front of the semi in time. Unfortunately one of the road signs took of my side mirror in the process. Rather the mirror than me though. Was doing ALOT of praying before the incident and I KNOW that that's what kept me alive. I was 2 hours from home, rolled down my windows, kept smacking myself in the face and made it home in one piece. I don't know the reason I'm still here but I know God will let me know in due time. I know one thing though, the rest areas are there for a reason and on any future trips I will make good use of them, even if I have to spend the night. It was a stupid thing for me to do, driving in that condition, and I can guarantee, it won't happen again.

Like Ken, but I'll tell this one I didn't ever tell any one else. A bus pulled out in front of me, when I came around the horn was going off and a man was standing by the door. A that guy came and unhooked the battery walked right thru him. I looked for my cell phone and when I looked around he was gone. I don't know I was bleeding bad but never felt any pain I thought I was gone.

Colleen...I'm curious - are your talking about NDE's like actually being "dead' for a short time (like on an operating table) and then being resuscitated...and what experiences (i.e. "seeing the light', etc.) the person had?; OR are you talking about (like the previous posts) simply coming close to dying but never actually being "dead'?

I have been pronounced dead 2 times in my life.
I was born a blue baby at home, the doctor who
was a close family friend, brought me to my mother
and apoligized for not being able to save me.
My grandfather was standing beside my mom, he
grabbed me and opened the blanket trunk at the
foot of the bed. he laid me on the blankets and
softly closed the lid. The confined puff of air
opened my lungs and I started breathing. I
dont remember anything ofcourse, but for the
grace of God I would be dead now 65 1/2 years.

2, Had a bad accident, I rolled my car several
times was thrown thru the windshield and my face
was all but ripped off. I fell back in the car
and must have passed out.
when the Sheriff Patrol arrived, the deputy
checked for a pulse and found none.
The coroner who is also the Funeral Director
came to pronounce me Dead at the scene.
He found a weak carotid pulse and i was put
in the hearse and rushed to the Hospitol.
As we came into town, I came to, I could see out
of my left eye, and I saw the Diner where I had
been an hour earlier. I could not feel any motion
or hear any sounds. I could see Paul, the coroner
and Joe the Fire Chief. I yelled to them both,
They never responded or even looked back at me.
I still could not feel anything or hear anything.
I thought I had died and passed out.
They had called my Dad and advised him I had been
killed in a car accident and he needed to identify
me.
When the hearse got to the hospitol, as they were
taking me out of the back, I came to, I could seemy Father
and asked him for a cigaret. He passed out cold.
I was stitched up by the ER Doctor and did not come
to until the next day. The doctor came in and asked
if I could hear him, yes, he took my hand and very
seriously apoligized to me for the way he stitched me.
He stated he did not expect me to live over night and had
stitched me up for a burial.
I have one memory of the whole mess. I hated the Bumble
Bee Song and it was playing, I remember reaching over to
the radio to change the station. The next memory was
when we came into town and I came to. I had no feeling
could not hear, but strangely I had a sense of peace I
have never since felt. Everything felt warm, totally
silent and absolutly I felt like I was floating. I felt
nothing at all. I was on morophine for the duration and
to this day remember nothing. But the feeling of the
serenity to this day has me wondering.

Riding my bike at night with a group of friends. Out in the country in Arkansas, pitch black night. Person behind me kept dropping back, he had been drinking so I kept looking for him in my mirror to see if he was still coming. Next thing I knew I looked up and there was a right hand curve, I could see across that there were lights coming into the curve from the other direction. The curve banked slightly and the back tire started to catch up to the front, I tried to steer into it and keep it up but down she went, I didn’t let go till I saw the sparks from the engine guard and headlights from the on coming truck. I said to myself “time to let go” and at the same time told myself to keep moving, don’t stop, don’t stop or I’m road kill. Then things did stop I was “standing” on the side of the road, looking at my bike upside down in the ditch still running. I stood there and did a quick mental check and I was ok, I felt no pain, no blood. On farther evaluation. I had skinned my knee that only three band aids could take care of it. My upper right chest area had black stuff on my shirt and my shirt a little ruffed up but not torn. I ask the truck driver if he saw how it was that I was standing and not hurt? He shook his head and said it was the damnedest thing he’s ever seen. He saw me roll and pop up and keep moving. Estimated I was going between 40-45. He said he saw my lights also and knew I was going too fast to make the curve. At the time I rode without a helmet. I had the few marks on my knees and the slam dumped shoulder, that was it.

Near death ….. as I stood there and realized I was alive and ok. I got mad. It was less than two years after my divorce and I really wished the Lord had taken me then and put me out of my pain. Easy accident write off and checked out. Then I thought – “the Lord must want me for something BIG because He could have taken me now.” But it also made me realize I did want to live or I shouldn’t have kept moving. So in a way, it was my wake up call.

Found out later that two others had lost it on that same curve and about 6 months after me another lost it there.

(dirt biking also pays off)

I was at a dance at the local American Legion. Two couples walked out on the floor, the band announced the song, and one of the men dropped to the floor - you could hear his head hit the floor.

I jumped up, told them to call 911, and went over to evaluate. No pulse, no breathing, head was cut open with very little bleeding there, so I knew he was proablably dead. I started CPR and kept up with it until the medics got there...

After I went to the bathroom and scrubbed up real good -no gloves- I went back to my table. One of my friends swore I had never gone up there to help, she swore I sat there the whole time.

The funny thing is, I thought that too. I could see myself doing CPR on this guy, while I was seated at the table! It really freaked me out.

The totally odd thing is that one week later, I was the patient, taken by ambulance to the same hospital because I was spiraling down with my glucose, driving - and had a guardian angel that told me to stop before I passed out and went into a coma.

I was in the same ER, being treated by the same people who had treated that man. It took me weeks to get over the emotional results of these two incidents.

As for the guy who went down, he had a massive heart attack and only lived 6 days longer with support. They turned the machines off on Friday, my incident happened on Sunday.

Weird, huh?

Most of you know about my heart attack that I had last December 27, 2007. I was in arrest for 3 hours, how I got from my bed to the front yard, I'll never know. Neighbors heard me hollering "Help", I have no recollection of that. Taken to hospital, had stents and am here today, I think. Lately, all things that are happening around me seem so different. Nothing bothers me, everything is a blurr, anything I do is not automatic anymore, I have to tell myself what to do. Time to get up, put in your eyedrops, brush you teeth, when I get home in the car, I will set there for 15 to 30 minutes and stare into the trees in the back, neighbors come over and ask if I'm ok, as I haven't moved, it is hard to explain. This evening as I was pondering what was going on, I got this feeling that it is possible that I did pass on, and I am here in my eternal body, going on as if nothing in the universe has changed, other than me. Nobody has ever come back from the dead and said what it was like. Talk about chills.

There coming to take we away ha ha.
