The wired computer needs a wireless card too. Once it has one you need to configure it for "Internet Connection Sharing".

Both wireless cards need to be set up for "ad-hoc" networking. That's how they'll "talk" to each other. If the wireless cards are able to talk, and Internet Connection Sharing is working, you'll be able to get on the Internet from the wireless PC.

If these steps are a little daunting, it wouldn't be a bad idea to call one of the mobile computer companies. They'll charge you about $120, but you'll have a working network.

My computer tech does remote access..he fixes my computer from his location...
this is much cheaper than having an onsite tech house call...do you know someone that has this service?

Do you have the high speed DSL modem connected to a wireless device with an antenna?

I have a QWEST modem, that is linked to my Linksys router...802.11N (just updated)
my laptop has a built in wireless card...it came with it when I purchased. (802.11G)

Two weeks ago I purchased an additional wireless card, that is for 802.11 *N*.
Makes the laptop faster and has farther range.

Please tell us the equipment you have connected up.

OK, here's what we'd need to know to make this work:

Is the wired computer a desktop or a laptop?

Is the wireless card in the wired computer working properly and configured for Ad-hoc networking?

Is the other computer that needs to connect to the Internet a desktop or a laptop?

Is the wireless card in that computer working properly and configured for Ad-hoc networking?

Can you "see" the wireless card in the wired computer from the other computer using the Windows network connection wizard?

Have you configured the wired computer with Internet Connection Sharing?

Just a heads up. But with the info given there really isn't much advice anybody can give.
What are the operating systems on both puters?
Are you using a router? Which 1?
If router is being used, how is it configured?
What type of modem? As in; is it DSL, dialup, cable?
Is the Wired pc configured to share the dialup connection?
Are the network connections of the wired pc bridged?

There are just too many variables without more information.

I agree more information would help.

I am assuming you have DSL, high speed delivered through your phone line
modem to your LINKSYS router. Your Linksys will no doubt have a firewall turned on.

Does your Oper Sys. also have a firewall turned on, that you need
to *turn off* during configuration?

Did you download the NETWORK MAGIC on your (assuming desktop) closest to your
Linksys router? Then you also need to download it to the wireless remote computer,
I am assuming a laptop..for example.

It just works so well...it shows you a diagram, of your connected access points. It tells you when it has been configured correctly, in GREEN ink, RED INK if it is not working. It has a FIX MY CONNECTION button. They do have a phone number to call for tech support...if for any reason, you are having trouble. NETM tells you about your firewall (s), and need for any M/Soft security updates. It tells you exactly what is wireless or wired, on line or not.
It can be set to notify you, in the event anyone tries to enter your network,
you can treat any new connection as an INTRUDER. It blocks any new hook on's from neighbors if you set it that way. I have to **unlock my network** to allow a friend to enter my network if they are here visiting with their laptop.

How can you beat FREE for 30 days...no credit card required..no strings...
you will use it even after installation...
sometimes things go bump in the night, and you will need help with any outage.

Is your printer also the kind that can be a network wireless?
That would be your third address.

Do you have your printer connected via a large cord, Ethernet? Like a
large telephone jack?
