why is it so hard for people in this area to find others to talk to or to hang out with....I've been on this site for 2 months and know only 3 people from oklahoma and they mostly live in the city....isn't there anyone in this area that can chat and hookup??

Hey everyone! I didn't realize they had an Oklahoma room here on DH. (lol)
I thought this was an interesting place to get my feet wet. Well first of all icedsnow, where are you looking and exactly who are you looking for? Male, female...doesn't matter? What kind of stuff are you wanting to do when you refer to "hanging out?"
I don't get out much myself, I have kind of settled into the "routine" of going to work, going home, hanging at the house, maybe dinner with girlfriends and such, but from time to time I also enjoy going and listening to some music or dancing and it's awkward going alone. I wasn't this way in my 20's, 30's, or even early 40's, but for some reason I really don't enjoy the idea of going to a bar and being on display! lol
I have found, however, if you start getting involved in "hobbies" you enjoy, or "interests" you might have you will meet people of similar tastes at those events. Years ago Tulsa had a volunteer group that helped with Oktoberfest, the summer concerts, special events and such that went on throughout the year, but I'm not sure what the name of it was or if it's still around. I'm wanting to say the Tulsa River Ratkateers, but don't quote me on that! lol My son and I were very involved with them, and I remember being busy all the time, met tons of folks (single and married/young and old) and had a blast!
With summer coming there will be lots of outside activities going on throughout the city, and get yourself out there and mingle. I don't know if you're the outgoing type or the shy type, but if you don't stick your toe in the water it'll never get wet! lol
Hope this gave you some ideas. Online is great, but you will have the "distance" thing going on. It's very very rare when you are lucky enough to find someone in your own back yard. Especially when you are "looking!" lol

I have been having the same problem then too boot I only have bad photos on here so if I find someone that lives around here they do not even want to talk to me because the pictures look like @#$$ if you know what I mean.

Yea, well I've checked your profile a few different times, I've gotta say your a fine looking lady but the reason I personally did'nt follow up was because of all the drama on your profile (just my opinion). Maybe take a little off of the essay description and show us a picture that those few extra pounds are in all the right places. I have been to the Ok site alot of times and have never seen anyone from ok online except sapphireeyes lol... and thats in different forums lol... i keep hoping and waiting.. maybe oneday someone from Ok will be on line the same time as me lol
