We met at a fast food place, not just going to go to a secluded place with a stranger
Because he does look younger I didn't realize he'd lied. It was while we were talking I was 'reviewing' what I could from hos profile. When I asked about being 32, just said " No, I'm 65". As we were in a public place, I didn't want to cause a scene ( I visit this place occasionally) so I just remained calm and polite. Wasn't sure how to call him out without causing a fight. Made idle chitchat till he left to do errands. Was definately not my best 'date'. Biggest question for me is, why give false facts like your age? I can see people fudging on weight or something, but your age? Am I wrong?

Because this is the internet and some people think personality will win them over when meeting up. It's like overweight women listing athletic and giving the weird angle shots that make a guy think a certain way, in hopes that she'll just win him over with her personality and weight won't be an issue.

I am not ashamed of my body so no lies there. And his pic wasn't super close up. Since he does look young for his age I would say that honestly I had believed he was 32. Its one thing to tell a small white lie. But that was a HUGE lie. If you can lie about that, what else would you lie about. If I wanted to be lied to, I wouldn't have gotten a divorce. P.s. I am curvy/voluptuous/full figured and proud of it. I don't have to be a size 2 to like myself.

And he does look at least 20+ years younger than he is, but that's still not the point. For you men who are coming down on me, what's your deal? I simply told my dating story... I'm not hurting you in any way... Hell, I haven't even given away his name. Not because I like him, but I do have my idea of not kicking a dog when its down.

A lie is a lie... Lying about weight is just as bad as lying about age... It's no difference...
I see a lot of people lying about weight claiming they are average... They aren't average... They are obese...
And please don't shoot the bull about most of the people I am around is this size so it make me average... If most of the people you are around is dumb, should you be allowed in medical school because you are a lot smarter then them... But dumb compared to a medical student...

Lying about your weight is nowhere near as bad as lying about your age. Some people feel they have to be a certain body type to be able to attract a mate. Its wrong, but understandable. Lying about your age is 10 times worse.

For one year, I've been chatting with a guy who said he's 56 years old. When I met him in person, he actually looked younger than 56. However, he always wanted to rest and had a hard time walking. He said it's due to his accident that made him confined in the hospital for half a year. Than I discovered his real age....76!

Lying about age is common, along with lies about weight, height and marital status. I was chatting to a guy (not here)and long story short he was 20 years older than he said he was. I am not dating a guy much older than me and certainly not interested in an older man old enough to be my father.

If someone lies about their age in their profile, it's likely they will lie about other things, such as marital status, physical shape, employment, income, as well as other things pertaining to their lives. A relationship cannot flourish with dishonesty. I post my real age here, and I am as accurate as possible about other things concerning myself. I have a widespread age range for women, from her 30's to my own age, since I'm youthful for my age, but I'll be damned if I will deceive the woman by saying I'm younger since I respect the fact that some women here want a guy closer to her own age even if I'm attracted to her. When someone lies and then finally meets their date, they only make themselves look foolish.

I feel like it's misleading to give my real age because in real life I'm perceived to be younger...most of my friends are a lot younger, although some are older than me. I've never had kids so I've sort of floated above or beside the stages of life most adults go through. My age is just one thing about me, and it seems overly weighted in online situations.

Having said that, I think lying about my age (or weight, whatever) is ridiculous. Starting a relationship on a lie just undermines it completely. And I'd need the confidence of knowing I was representing my true self if I ever got to meet a date in person.

I am only 3 and a half. I am 6'3 and 160 with a full beard. Nobody really believes me I am this young. I have to lie about my age. I LOOK 29 right? I thought about saying I 73. I think people start shrinking in height at that age though. All I want is someone to change my diaper till I get old enough to do it myself.

I expect most middle aged and older guys lie about their age because no matter how much the girl SWEARS that "age don't matter," when it comes to the clinch, age DOES matter to them VERY DARN much. Unless of course the old fart is richer than god and willing to blow vast wads of it buying her expensive gifts, paying her rent, paying off her bad debts etc.

30 years is a bit much but regardless yes your wrong. Fudging you weight by 30lbs is thr equivalent of fudging your age by 30 years in my opinion. Another reason why dudes might lie about their age is that women are ultra picky. I am talking about girls who are 5 or 6's at best. Especially girls who are in their early 20's think that dating a much older guy is dating a guy who is 26-28 years old. They are completely out of touch with reality.
