 After being single & raising my 3 boys since 1995 I've found my first real & serious relationship and we met on DH ! His intriging message came out of the blue & completely surprised me, but I was having a lot of fun on here so I answered with no expectations other than another awesome friendship. We msg'd, then talked via phone, then met within a week (at a public place where my friends were handy)... there was an instant attraction beyond what I've ever felt before and we've been exclusively dating since then. It's been wonderful and scary at the same time... but I like that, lol. 
It was a little embarassing  at first to say we met online, but I'm finding that it's more common than I ever thought and some of these relationships have ended up in marriage =o) 
FYI: We also live an hour apart, which may not seem too far to some, but it does have it's ups & downs, but we aren't letting it stop us. I can't imagine trying to date someone in another state tho... my advice would be to try & find someone close to you. 
I wouldn't be writing on here if I wasn't sure this was something that we both agree is a special relationship with a definite future, so PUHLEASE BE ENCOURAGED !!! Forget all about the few creepy people  (just block 'em) - enjoy meeting the people on DH and maybe you might find your special someone on here too!
