well to be relalistic you cant have love without lust and but you can have lust without love i guess it depends on how close the person comes to being you soul mate some people are just good sex some are good conversation when you meet some one who is every thing then ur done looking

I agree. Lust fades, a lot of Beautiful women who most guys would lust over are not touched by thier man. I'm sure that is a two way street... Reason being the lust faded, one person or both jumped into the relationship on chemistry (litterally) the long term relationship should have been based upon True Friendship, love can sometimes come into play down the road... Don't get me wrong lust is important. I'm sure you have all seen the little link on here of "date a married Woman/man"? These sites are big today and I've even seen expose's on TV about them, how about that show "Cheaters". It's all about some people thriving on lust, but getting some sort of comfort from the dead relationship they are in. Personally I would never join a site like that but it is what it is....

I belive that I made it very clear that I was searching for a long term relationship...Someone to share my life with.
However....
I still buy the occasional powerball ticket and even if I don't hit the jackpot, I'm still tickled to get one of the lower consolation prizes...

I am so impressed with what "testinggrounds" had to say, it is refreshing to see someone actually take a stand. I am in the process of writing a book about Internet dating, and no! it is not about how to "lie" to get what we want, heaven knows there are enough of those plastered all over the Internet. Mine will be the hard cold facts about how it is destroying families, hurting our children.There is a song, country so most of you will roll your eyes, but it is "You have Got To Stand for Something, or You Will Fall for Anything" by Aaren Tippin....its called morals, and if anyone wants to check it out you will see that word has left our vocabulary. The way I see it, even though many are against what is going on, they are throwing their hands up and saying "what the heck if I can't fight it I may as well join them. Thank God!! we all have the right to make a choice, and so we do. Love or lust?? It takes both, and if the lust gets lost somewhere down the road, we didn't love that person in the first place. If the marriage or relationship isn't working then get out before moving on to another, for Gods sake stop playing games with other peoples lives, and thriving on the pain caused just to boost one's ego! Everyone needs to grow up, pull together, as these are hard times and above all else be true to yourselves, know who you are, what you want, then be HONEST!! Then people you communicate with have the choice, without honesty you have taken away their choice.

ok, i think we all have done both, (love, lust) but if you sit back and realy think about what you want out of life, you will choose love,, that is true love! not the shallow feeling you get when you first meet, the one that takes time to develop, ie; friendship,caring,passion,commitment, then you can love, otherwise you are just lusting after the physical person you are with. you might say you love them, but that love will never last!
lust should only come in to play after true love, then the lust can make the love, well ill just say it will make your toes curl,, (every time !)
