I'm an easygoing, soft-spoken kind of guy, easy to talk to and get along with. I like the outdoors, especially water, and I like to read a lot. I have a good sense of humor, a little goofy sometimes , but I'm good at making people laugh. I love kids and I love Jesus, and I'm willing to do most anything if I believe it will accomplish something good in the world.
People tell me I'm a pretty unusual guy. . . though I'm not really sure why. I was born and raised a small-town southern country boy. . . I like old trucks and cowboy boots and fried catfish, I talk with a drawl and I like to fish and I have a rebel flag hung on my wall. All pretty ordinary conventional stuff,.
On the other hand, I'm a devoted Christian, and that means something to me. Among other things, it means that I've never slept with a woman I wasn't married to, that I care deeply about anyone who is lost or hurting, that I'm generous and compassionate with my time and my money, and that given a choice I'll choose to think the best of people. I forgive things easily and don't hold grudges. It would probably be truthful to say that I'm a rather humble and simple-hearted man.
On the third hand, I do use my mind as well as my heart. I'm working on a PhD in Christian Counseling, and I teach physics and advanced biology. I'm a publshed novelist and a part-time businessman, so I guess you could say I keep busy. I hope that when I'm old, I can truthfully say that I never lived any life except the one I loved, and that I never wasted my time paying attention to what other people would think of me. That's for snobs, not for me.
As for what I'm looking for. . . well, I guess I have an open mind about that. Someone who likes kids and cares about walking close with God. I fully expect that she'll have some flaws and bad habits, because everybody does. I'm very much a realist about things like that. Someone who is down to earth and sensible, but a little romantic now and then. Trustworthy and kind would be nice too. Eventually I'd like to get married again, but I don't want to rush into anything. That's a good way to make a very bad mistake.
