Summer is--at least unofficially--here now! It was a long hard winter (in more ways than one.) That is all in the past now. Things ARE turning around and they are going to keep on getting better!!!
I try to maintain optimism--even when it's difficult; if you do too read on and see if we are compatible.
I like to have fun but I also believe that I deserve respect and the best way to ensure I am treated respectfully is to treat others that way.
In many ways I am a study in contrasts. I can be a loner but I treasure my friends and loved ones. I realize that people are most important but truly love my pets. I not at all the stereotypical "macho" guy, but took-up boxing in my forties (and have met some of the kindest people I have ever known through this sport.) I am a social drinker who is acutely aware of the problem of alcoholism (I have seen it in people close to me.) I am an avid reader but consider the word "intellectual" a pejorative. I took up gardening about five years ago and am passionate about my vegetables but have a weakness for junk food.
I love to try new things so if your interests do not exactly match mine, that could be an asset. If you are a kind and respectful person, I'll admire you even if we differ in many ways.
